2006 to 2007 feel like completely different eras in the sport. Alonso leaving his championship winning light blue Renaults, Kimi leaving the silver McLarens where he became a star. And of course Schumacher leaving and Hamilton joining, one megastar transferred for another that the sport seemed to be centred around (especially on British TV).

I agree but they are in the same period 2005-2009 where there was a new champion every year. Obviously next was 2010-2013

What a shame McLaren didn’t win a race in 2006 because it was such a good looking car sexy car and Kimi Raikkonen definitely deserved to win a race or 2 but didn’t because of poor Reliability and he crashed into the back of Liuzzi at the 2006 Hungarian GP. Kimi deserved to win a race or 2 because of how good he was.

Agree. Its as if the wind itself shaped the car. Beautiful, slender and elegant lines. Having the features of its predecessor, the MP4/20 but with a slender nose and the last McLaren with inputs from Adrian Newey himself. Too bad they were not able to iron out those mechanical troubles until the following year with the MP4/22. This car, the MP4/19, 20, 22 and 23 for me are the best looking F1 cars in any given era.

Fisichella had the chance to get a 1-2 finish for the team or maybe even a win but he blew it at the start. He jumped the start very poor error he qualified on the front row had the pace of Alonso. Jump start cost him a podium finish finished 4th in the end not to bad.

You get on the Rubber the Marbles no grip at all slide of track or crash or no traction no grip. As Raikkonen found out and Villeneurve and a few others.

Schumacher stuck behind Trulli. Martin Brundle and James Allen said Michael Schumacher and David Coulthard both putting in great performances the 2 oldest drivers very experienced and the experience showed because the track Conditions were awful. The marbles if you go off line you end up on the marbles and spin or crash or struggle for traction like Raikkonen did when Schumacher went past him at the end.
