Would be great if Codemasters could add a practice mode feature just for race starts & pit stops!
@SimRacingSetups2 жыл бұрын
Yea that'd be cool. Although you can use the rewind feature for pitstops and keep restarting a race to practice starts for now

I agree, but they are too lazy working on new skins for that useless character room customization.

Hey man, your number one tip about holding onto that 25% throttle when lights go out is what help me nail the starts every time. No traction. Thanks for the advice and tips. Extremely helpful.

When approaching first corner, there is no exact braking point. It totally depends on your track position. If you are leading the pack, you can brake at the last milisecond. But if you are in the middle of the grid or back of the grid, it is best to first coast, and then apply brakes just like real F1 drivers. That way you have more control over the braking distance you need since things may happen in front of you.

I noticed that starts on the my team career mode are way harder than Grand Prix mode

The AI start is crazy good. Another tip is to sometimes lift before the breaking point to give you more time to place your car in a SAFE PLACE. And to keep your eyes on the lights and not other car on the start. If someone jumps you don't react to them. (Done that a few times)

I can literally keep 20% throttle in 1st gear, all the way to 4th gear and still my car is acting like I’m using full throttle because the wheels are spinning like crazy and I either spin out or I have such a slow start trying to avoid the spin that I get overtaken by about 6 cars and that even happens on 0 AI difficulty (I tried it just to see). I literally don’t know what to do apart from turn off manual starts

I like to use the in car camera, and I don’t like having the mfd on the screen and like to use the wheel itself, how do I see the rpms with these settings tho?

Hey, will there be a video explaining how to adapt your setups? For example if I'm finding that there's too much understeer, not gast enough in a straight line etc, would be useful to understand what I can change to make it suit my style
@abhimohan76082 жыл бұрын
If you haven't got an answer elsewhere yet, the basic thing that can be adjusted is the aero. Increase front downforce if facing understeer and reduce both front and rear for more top speed.

I’ve been comfortably playing with no assists since F1 2019 but this year I can barely even finish top 10 on an online 25% race without using medium TC and ABS 🤣
@SimRacingSetups2 жыл бұрын
This year is much tougher. Damn those new car regulations! 😂
@nekaneka-lo2js2 жыл бұрын
Yea man there has to be a patch for that. I watch A LOT of on oards comparing cars to the game and they absolutely do NOT have to be so damn easy on throttle like we do. Especially with starts. Just how many cars have you seen start off too hard and immediately spin? That doesn't even happen in the sport!

Man, I keep thinking that the optimal RPM for the perfect start is much lower in F1 22 cause the MFD shows "Optimal RPM" when you're barely hitting throttle...that one always confuses me 😣

Does the car automatically shift up from N to 1? Because mine do not, I always start it on N and then have to shift it up, which makes me lose a lot of time. Any ideas?
@nothanks91742 жыл бұрын
It should shit automatically. While you're holding the clutch and in N, it should shift to 1st gear when the 5 red lights are lighting up. Usually around the 3rd or 4th red light appearing it shifts to 1st automatically.

You should actually wait for the mid August patch before releasing this kind of videos since they will most likely become redundant once the patch is out. The patch will mess around with gears and the power/torque ratio that each gear sends to the wheels, which right now is making the cars oversteer too easily.
@UniQue19922 жыл бұрын
How do you know about this?
@SimRacingSetups2 жыл бұрын
The same principles will apply no matter what any future patches change. Yes, setups may change and, but driving techniques won't be hugely affected. 🤞
@nekaneka-lo2js2 жыл бұрын
@@UniQue1992 literally every year they give an update to the cars around that time bro. These cars right now are mainly made when they was in winter testing. Now that they have actually race data they will be able to find tune the cars more to real life. I've NEVER saw an F1 driver spin his car into a wall at the start. That just doesn't happen
