thank you, I have acquired a savannah by accident, and have been constantly researching everything I can to try and figure out what level, he might be, he was an abandoned kitten, having been experienced with so many cats for 40 years, I knew he was different right away at 5 weeks, based on size, temperament and markings, which became more evident as he grew, so I really appreciate finding something that shows some of the differences between F1-F7

The new generation of F7 cannot be 2% of serval if properly breeded, because nowadays Savannahs are breeded to Savannahs. Hence: Savannah is just a Savannah (with a quite large % of serval).

For those in the UK, F1s and I think F2s come under the restricted pet laws, and you would need a special pet licence to own one. They come under exotic pet breed laws, like any zoo would hold.

Not sure how old she was. F7s generally are about the size of a normal cat. Males 12-15 lbs and females 8-12 lbs. Some are larger.

Look around the humane society. I'm pretty sure my cat is a wild cat. She just isn't normal compared to the other two moggies I have. I got her because she kept licking my finger through her cage at the over run pound. She plays with toys, and prefers her toys over a toilet tube like a regular cat. She fetches, plays with water, and I just taught her to sit. The only thing is she isn't overly vocal. She is built like these guys. Her spotting is not a bengal spotting and her head shape isn't oriental or egyptian mau. Picked up as a stray. She doesn't acknowledge that I am looking at her nor does she ever make eye contact. She is 7.6lbs at 7 months old. Is definitely not mature or full grown yet. Its hard to tell. I got her for 80 bucks spay included. So yeah look around. If anything she maybe just a normal tabby, but they can be wild too.

Got a kitten from a girl i worked with about 9 months back. As he started to grow i kinda realized he wasnt your everyday house cat. His markings were very distinct from any cat id ever come across. did some research to find out that i actually got a savannah cat hybrid! not sure what generation it is since i never met the parent cats, but i got super lucky cash wise and he turned out to be an amazing cat.

if someone releases a savannah, or one runs off, yes one could be out there and mate with a feral cat, especially if it is in a rural area, like how I got mine, and we have a breeder in the area, it is entirely possible for one to get loose, if you read enough/ more information from enough reputable sites you will learn that savannahs are more likely to run off and hear the "call of the wild" than a regular domestic cat. Even Domestic cats sometimes tho rarely do that. Depending on the owners knowledge of cats, how long the cat was kept in the house before being let out to roam, the age of cat etc, it is entirely possible for that scenario. And some people believe cats should be let out all the time, Not myself, but there are people out there who do this. And if one random owner of a savannah decided the cat was too wild for their taste and were not the most scrupulous and ethical pet owner, they may just throw it outside. Don't be so naïve about "people". My poor kitten was only 5 weeks old, abandoned by a mom that probably got taken down by coyotes or ? the three kittens were rescued by land owner at about 4 weeks old, dropper fed, and I took Luma at 5 weeks, became his mom and he is definitely part savannah. Now happy and healthy and 7 months old.

When the video was made I think that is all I had to show. It is pretty old video. I do currently have F4 kittens and F4 adult female. Layla is an adult f4 her video is listed on the "The Daily Kitten" play list. do a KZbin search for "The Daily Kitten: life on a string" Layla is the young adult with a black nose. you see her right at the beginning. Safari is the one with the more golden color and hisses right at the beginning, she is an F3. The mop with 4 legs is a Maine Coon and Ruby is my F1 up on the dresser.

Our newest kitten, KitKat, we got a several weeks ago...she's about 8 months...got her a 6 months... Observing her play with the older cat about 18 to 20 months old, she more wild than the boys..sweet girl, but likes to play rough...mind you, she's the only girl cat...reading about savannah cats, and seeing different pics and videos, and kitkat's markings, she looks like there's a possibility of her being savannah... She's already bigger than the boys when they were that age... Is there a way for sure to find out if she is a savannah?

That was Great. I have a Snow Bengal (F6) - still not sure what the divverence between a Savannah and a Bengal. He looks just like them that you have on the video, extremely playful , loves to go out for Walks, likes to swim but the ears as you pointed out are much smaller that your F1s.
