A friend of my husband's just got a Savannah and we're doing a ton of research before we'd be interested. We're huge cat and animal lovers. We have a huge house with super high vaulted ceilings. Do these guys like to climb and perch up high? Are they hard to feed and potty train? I'm subscribing to your channel. Your RUBY is just beautiful. THANK YOU so much for giving us a look, and we'll be around doing our homework. We realize they may not be for everyone, but we're really interested, and loving what we've read so far. Christopher Lantesh saw a f1 female for 15,000 today. Serval cross with a f2 female. Looked just like a serval. If you search you can get a male cheaper. Males are sterile to the fifth generation. You can purchase a f2 for low as 4000$. Some breeders are extremely expensive. I have seen cats that look nothing like a serval of poor quality with breeders asking ridiculous prices. I purchased a F2b after researching for two years.

@@ajaned32 Savannahs do get smaller as the generations rise--but they are still longer and taller than the average domestic cat. And, they generally maintain their sleek, short, soft and shiny fur with spots and stripes, bigger ears and black paw pads.

Yes, The main thing to consider is the energy level. You would need to pair them with a high energy level cat. The other thing to consider is the generation. Later than F3 they really just act like regular high energy domestic cats. In fact they are considered domestic cats anyways. For example I have a Maine Coon that lives with my 2 F1's Ruby and Moja. He is also comfortable with the others as well. The Maine Coon will actually beat up my F5 so I need to keep them separated.

All cats with claws can scratch, draw blood and you can get infected from a cat scratch or bite--if it's not treated properly ASAP. Gotta learn about cats and how to play safely.

That's how I got my Savannahs for free. The female was a rescue--a beautiful marbled young Savannah with a bad biting habit--pregnant with her first litter. She bit me too at first--very hard--but now she's fine. I'm not a breeder--just love and understand cats and have always wanted a Savannah. I kept one of her kittens--a big male tabby with warm brown spots and stripes--and sold the others to good homes. My legs were scratched often raising those kittens. They were not ready to sell for 12 weeks! Then they were okay to go into homes with children. I had no complaints from buyers about Cleo's kittens.
