@@seanephraim4397 it certainly was, I made the same purchase on my save. I went with Williams too but replaced Latifi with Piastri. 2 races in and he's out qualified and beat albon in both. The car is definitely more important than the driver on this game.

Here's a tip set tyre wear and fuel to high usage during the first 3-5 laps to gain track position and don't be conservative with pitstops because you can gain incredible time by pushing very hard

20:00 - I like that setup screen, it reminds me of BATRacer, an old web-based management game from way back when (I think it's still going). The optimal set-up gets narrower the more you practise, and it's not always possible to get the ideal set-up in each area.

It might be a good strategy as a back marker to min max the car for specific tracks. So all development towards too speed or throw the sink at low or medium speed corners. Use that specialization to get points in a few good races and accept back marker status in other races.

Good to know someone else was as crazy and picked Williams. So far I'm halfway through the season with one lucky race in the rain with 3 safety cars that got me P4. Happy with that race but if that 3rd safety car had happened 2 laps later I could have clinched P3. Albon had been able to pass Leclerc after the safety car but 2 laps before the end he passed me and I ended P4

Yes, try to get Oscar and fire Latifi asap on the spot. I also love the fact that finally people like Ricciardo and specifically Lewis actually look like themselves for once. I wish they wouldn't make actors/actresses speak like a robot. No one speaks like that irl, it would be cool if it could be a bit more natural. After all you're also reading it so it's ok. And the best part of the series is that you manage but don't drive. This is YOUR game Ben. :D PS: It would be great if people/chat didn't tell you all the ins-and-outs and all the optimized stuff / exploits to do better. Like irl, if you choose something and doesn't work you're in the mud.

I mean to be honest one of the biggest weaknesses of ai in f1 games is their strategy so if the ai in this game are like the f1 game ai it's not gonna be that much harder to get one of those crazy wins

I think 8 of the 10 saves, especially the midfield and backmarker teams, will sign Piastri straight away. I'm picking Alfa Romeo this year as i want them to be bigger than Ferrarri. I will sign Piastri immediately when hopping on later this day. Have a special bond with Alfa as it was my team during league races previous year

Im not sure this is the game for starting at back of the grid... ultimately its the in race where the most joy would come. Upper midfield team like mclaren would have far more variables race to race and be far more rewarding. The build of a backmarker team is probably too slow to be an enticing series. You may get one surprise result but i dont think its enough to keep the majority interested unfortunately

If you've played motorsport manager, theres no team orders in that, so you have to pull back your cars manually so the faster car can gothrough. Maybe try that if Goatifi gives you shit.

Ben keep in mind that if you're a lap down you can finish the race with -1 lap of fuel

Try pushing at the start of the race. Be conservative after phase 3 of the start for the first half and then push the last half of the race
