What's really sad is that it'll be aeons until someone will come up with a proper F1 manager game again because developers will look at his and determine that sales were low because an F1 management game is just not interesting to people when really the games were just poorly executed. All they needed to do was basically recreate Grand Prix World with modern graphics, but instead they went all generic with it and ultimately the games were shallow.

They just announced a maasive overhaul update, it was prettu obvious this was instead of a new game nextbyear, and im.all for it. Run a title for 2 seasosn and give it a nice update midway through, to keep it fresh. Makes much more senses to focus on the 2026 title with the new regs.
@benjamin-jp932 ай бұрын
Which overhaul update is this? Are you referring to the 1.9 update or is there something else in the pipe line?
@MrFarquar2 ай бұрын
@benjamin-jp93 the 1.9 with the 8mproved gameplay features. They could have saved them and just put out F1M 25 with those 5 additional features and updated roster. It is much better to drop 1.9 and maybe another 1 or 2 little updates or additions over the next 12 months. And concentrate on a new regs game for 2026. I'm more inclined to support devs that focus on gameplay improvements over annual releases and trying to bleed consumers dry for little improvement.

The problem is that... It's just not very good. Being the best so far wasn't really a very high bar to clear.
@stgrimmy16922 ай бұрын
What was it that made you think they weren't very good? Curious to know what you think bud
@tigerpjm2 ай бұрын
@stgrimmy1692 They became very repetitive very quickly and there wasn't a lot of depth to them. Don't get me wrong, I bought both and had a good enough time for a few hours, but the simulation of race weekends just really wasn't... very good. Tyre management was extremely basic and, again, the business side of the game was pretty bare-bones. I know Football Manager has had a lot of years to develop, but have a look at the depth of those games in comparison.

I'm not sure complexity necessarily equals 'goodness'. For me and my simple mind the accessibility really helped and was plenty complex for me. Perhaps in the future someone will come up with a new iteration of a f1 manager game that can please audiences like you and me both.

@@tigerpjm The problem is the F1 license will not be cheap. I hope IF the news is true, they do an unbranded version for 2025 and still build the game. Give the chance to make an F3 team and then have to save enough money to buy an F2 team or something. As you said, it's too easy to win in F1 with any team, and once you have done it with a bad team, why would you do it all over again with a good team, which will be even easier? Something has to be said about the support of the game as well. It's been VERY hit and miss. Here is a patch that fixes X, Y, and Z, only for it to totally break A, B, and C.

Knew it was a 3 year contract and the recent update scared me quite a bit, had a fair bit I thought they might save for the next cycle. My favourite game, fits my perfect niche. Will someone else pick up the mantle? I doubt it. I will remain sad that we NEVER got a F1 network capable save.
@stgrimmy16922 ай бұрын
Fingers crossed there will be a successor at some point. Possible issue may be due to how expensive the license is which may put people off
@jaysveggiepatch2 ай бұрын
I bought the first version. It was OK, but I was bored by the middle of the second season. To get the best of things, I found you needed to take part in all the practise sessions, qualifying and then the race. And it took hours to do. The racing wasn't that dynamic, or exciting. Which I guess is true to life. A game needs to be engaging and make you want to come back. The first version just didn't deliver. Instead of milking the cash cow with a whole new version. They could of just offered a season update, which I would of been willing to pay and play. But following the pattern of driving / racing games, another new year meant another new expensive version. So I just didn't bother with it..............

Not sure that's true about Alonso, since the recent accquisition of a top rival team team engineer, AM have now set out a plan of being FIA constructers champion by 2026, though whether Alonso will still be in F1 let alone with the team remains to be seen....sad news though, thx

I would love for them to release a yearly update DLC that includes new driver rosters / calendar, easy to do and I'd pay 15 bucks a year for a new update.
@stgrimmy16922 ай бұрын
I think that would work, but the license they have and F1 being F1, it probably couldn't or wouldn't be allowed.
@alexdotzko2 ай бұрын
@stgrimmy1692 that's totally fair. It'll be a shame if the game just fizzles. One underrated function of the games that I've really loved is getting to know up and coming drivers. I remember I had Ollie Bearman become the youngest world champion in F1 2022 and it made me follow his actual career because of it.
@stgrimmy16922 ай бұрын
@alexdotzko Yeah I love that stuff as well. Hopefully there's another company out there that can do their own game some day
