Thanks and, yes, always great to hang with Scarbs. Top Man. And I'm lucky to be working with him on a new project I think you're going to love.

Great insight. Being a software engineer myself, I always thought the software side of things were a bit neglected in coverage, as the hardware side like aero / chassis is more appealing for TV. So more of this, loved the mention of Atlas and what it does. Thanks for bringing a bit Scarbs to get the info! 😎

I am a retired engineer and I find this fascinating and I didn't realise that they were supplying a lot of other teams as well. Excellent vid thanks Peter

I’d love to learn about the coils. Especially the wiring diameter used to feed them energy output and dwell. Very interesting to me. Probably no one else but it is to me.

I believe the MP4/8 used the first official TAG in house McLaren ECU, along with their groundbreaking bespoke Atlas telemetry software that controlled the hydraulic Bilstein struts of the active system

Great video but light on explaining the FIA mandatary part for that ECU and other parts provided by McLaren Technology. Interested to see an update on the FIA capability to monitor performance (and behaviour?) on track and in parkfermé (fuel and electricity consumption, etc).

To think I was annoyed when I needed a new ECU for my car and it cost £430 to have a new one ordered, fitted and reprogrammed to the car. 😅

5:18. Good grief. Is that Windows 95 (or Windows NT) user interface??? The icons and window design looks awfully archaic! However, a fascinating video.

Oh lord, that screen shot at 5:20 is most decidedly **not** high tech and looks to be from Windows 95. Sometimes the mystery is better than the reality...

Does seem strange, doesn't it? But actually, nearly all automotive diagnostic software that you'd find at your local car dealership is on Windows XP! So I reckon that screenshot is accurate. It's all about stability, I guess.

Is the main reason for all of the teams using this a cost consideration? They don't have to develop this hardware/software themselves. Does the FIA also use it to monitor what the teams are doing?

So, slowly, slowly, they are dismantling “McLaren”, selling it by pieces. 😏 An Empire, builded by Ron Dennis, his vision, his futuristic rebel thinking of the pinnacle in motorsports. 🤷🏻♀️
