TG7 Legends same with me !! Its hard getting the braking points properly im just gonna turn it off and practice
@PWCDN6 жыл бұрын
It's tough because it comes down to knowing each track + lots of practice. Definitely not casual friendly to have it off, but if you play racing games all the time, it is worth investing time to memorizing breaking points for every track. Right now I am not sure if I have the patience to learn it, since I play games maybe an hour a day tops (vs 4+ hours when I was younger).

If you use a lot of assists don't start with turning off the racing line do it last after mastering everything else
@ZZ9ProductionsOFFICIAL6 жыл бұрын
As a more casual player I keep the line on corners only and use that as my reference, along with knowing how much braking force the car has to judge the braking and turn in points to maximise speed through the corner, I usually stick to the suggested line but on the likes of Russia T2-3 chicane I perhaps turn in a little earlier just to minimise the amount of steering input required

Good information here, nice 1! For me, having also started on F1 2011 using a pad, I spent a lot of time in TT grinding laps, but also did short races of 10/15% or 15 laps (whatever it was back then), didn't bother with qualifying at all so starting at the back, with racing line on and just tried to finish as high up the field as possible. This helped me develop a kind of muscle memory for each track, braking points, my preferred lines, which also helped me develop my own style, so that when I got onto F1 2012 I could turn off racing line and know all the tracks like the back of my hand. There is no substitute for grinding those laps though, as once you know a track you wont forget it! Looking forward to F1 2016!

I dont understand why people are faster with racing line off. I see that they are but for me the breaking line is always on point. I can perfectly brake every time and if i overshoot it by a few meters I already dont get the corner so how can you be faster without it? Also it accounts for your tyre wear and fuel load which helps me too. Its the only assist I really need EDIT: Im talking about f1 2016 and again to me it looks like its the latest brake spot u can use

Also could you do a video on how to set up correctly + how to know what fuel mix to be in
@biggzy96778 жыл бұрын
fuel mix? that depends on what session you are in, in quali stick it in lean until the penultimate corner then rich for the whole lap and any other fast laps you are on, and then again lean on the in lap. In the race it depends how much fuel and what you tyre state is, if you are low on fuel you need to be switching between standard and lean, switch it to lean for low speed corners and traction areas and stick it in standard for short and long straights, if you have spare fuel and your tyres are ok, then run in rich apart from traction ares where is would be best to run in standard so you can maximize the exit grip, hope this helps pal.
@mbarko6068 жыл бұрын
PrO BiGGzY96 When I watch most good players they switch between fuel mixes at each corner and end up with the perfect fuel balance at the end of the race, that's all I mean
@biggzy96778 жыл бұрын
yeah its all just keeping an eye on the fuell, i mean, putting it into lean at every slow corner isnt a bad idea and it will give you some extra fuel towards the end of the race so you can push, its what i do :)

I drive with the racing line on the F1 games because I don't want to put the time into learning the braking zones whilst playing casually with a pad and a podcast on. But I don't use the racing line on the more realistic sims with a wheel instead of a pad. Maybe I would turn it off if I played the game with a wheel more often but I normally invest more time into sims.
@johnquick83168 жыл бұрын
That's what I used to think but if you turn the racing line off you will start paying more attention to the braking markers and other trackside cues (shadows) to tell you when to brake or turn. Of all the assists I think the racing line is the easiest to get used to not having simply because there is something there to replace it.

Played quite a bit of Project Cars (GT) before without racing line, but when I started playing F1 2017, I can't seem to get the lines perfect. And the problem is when I make mistakes, those mistakes are costly. Kinda frustrating. So, my plan is to play the first season of career mode with racing line on just to get the feel of each track, and turn it off in season 2.

I notice you go really long on the rev limiter. Traditionally when you're in the limiter, you aren't getting max power so you should be losing time. I tend you go up a gear the second I hit the limiter but I'm not so arrogant as to suggest I'm quicker than you. So, does being in the limiter not slow you down? I understand the reason to do it on corners, to stop yourself going wide, but why on the straights?
@JDisLimitless8 жыл бұрын
Yeah that's something I've always really done, not out of choice, mainly just habit! Throughout the last year I have started to shift earlier, but hasn't really changed anything regards of speed for me and when playing the game you can actually see it doesn't affect your speed, so I just do it. In real life that would definitely impact the speed, but playing F1 games for the past few years it doesn't really make a difference for me, although I have changed my style a bit! This video I was talking + playing, so wasn't really focusing on the raw speed :)

Using assists slows your progress. The first F1 game I played was F1 2012 and I started with no assists. Two months later I was posting times half a second behind the top league racers. Once you understand the basics of racing, learning the game the hard way pays dividends in the long run.

You can take some things such as the racing line, hand eye coordination but apart from that I wouldn't say it would mean you'll be good in real life! Both should be treated as separate :) Perhaps for sim games such as Rfactor and I racing you could transfer your actual driving skills to real life.

decent, although manuel gears alone would make it better, suggested isnt really needed, just listen to the engine if its making a racket then your in too low a gear if its quite and low then your in too high of a gear, the racing line is more difficult but like JD says everyone picks out there own reference points for braking and turn in, if u turn the line off, you can too.
