F10 M5 Detail Series: E11 - Gtechniq Crystal Serum Light

Now that polishing is done, it's time to put a ceramic coating on the M5. I'm using Gtechniq Crystal Serum Light as the base and once it cures I'll start layering it with EXO v4. I also used some Meguiar's M39 Heavy Duty Vinyl Cleaner to clean up some of the rubber on the windows.

Whenever you'd like. Cabinets take the longest to get. We'd want at least 6 weeks to get what you need depending on your timing.

8:08........I'll second your point on whether to PPF or not depending on front end condition. I had my 16' F80 covered with Xpel Ultimate at 41,000 miles with plenty of previous road nicks and chips. If it wasn't for the fact that I drive over 150 miles one way to work in South Florida I would have passed and saved the money for mods etc. After the install I could definitely see where road damage was actually magnified by the film.

Hey Matt, for the honeycomb in the front bumper, we removed and sprayed in gloss black. Looks great and has much easier maintenance. You should consider!

I've felt like coating a car was beyond my level, but you make it seem so easy. Then again, you do have 42 years of experience. ;) I've got a silver car too, so I'm concerned about missing spots and actually seeing it lay down. I guess it does seem to look a little streaky or cloudy before you wipe it off. The video seems to have captured that on the hood and CF front lip.

It is super easy to do. The prep is the harder part. Polishing takes a lot of time and labor.

I've got my CSL. My car is a daily driver, AND must be clean at all times. The recommendation is to not wash the car for 7 days. Gtechniq say I should be ok if all I do is wipe down with distilled water. (that was my suggestion though - not theirs). I.e - they are mainly concerned about chemicals & detergents. Do you have any advice? For example, could I consider applying a sealant, per the CarPro suggestion of applying Reload? I already have some Reload. Gtechniq don't know whether Reload would be compatible, but say that if I want to apply it, to wait 3 hours. Any additional advice you can provide would be appreciated.

Pretty sure they use DJI. I've personally used the Zhiyun Crane 2 for 1 year, and it too works great. Even handles my 1DX Mk II and the 85mm 1.2 II.

I've noticed that US spec cars have reflectors on the front bumper. A lot of people in the US blank them out by colour coding them. Are you allowed to place a euro spec bumpers on cars in the US?

You can, but that's a rather large expense. My M3 has a Euro bumper on it.

You can but it's pretty expensive to buy a euro bumper and get it painted. The other thing is, if you have a metallic painted car it is really hard to paint match precisely to the original body parts.
