If you want a street/strip 20" skinny tire, check out the Bridgestone Potenza S001... - 195/50r20 - 5"-7" wheel width range - 27.7" tall, 6.4" tread width - 1433lbs load rating; 2866lbs between 2 - W(168MPH) speed rating OEM front tire on the BMW i8, they seem to go for between $370 and $400 or so(not the cheapest in the world...) - I think they're pretty much the only real option for a street/strip 20" skinny, at least if you care about having something vaguely rated for the job lol. The load rating should be plenty for any RCSB 1/2 ton(any brand), 5200lbs with 55/45 weight distribution would put you at 2860lbs on the nose, and these aluma-150s are much lighter than that of course(I think the GC TrackHawk would be just over it... but, ya know, "safety factor" and all, should be fine... lol). Speed rating should be plenty for most(and re: "safety factor"... this is not legal advice...). Also... what about a giant single turbo? I'm always a sucker for a cyclops setup lol
@jmatarazzo189 ай бұрын
That size in the S001 would be pretty hard to find. The S001 also comes in 215/45R20 and is much more readily available. It’s about .6 lbs heavier, 10% wider (7.7” vs 8.5”) Tire rack has them for $306 right now.

Currently thinking of moving from a WRX to a RCSB f150 and have been looking at 2wd specifically because im probably never going to run boost. I care much more about cornering and have very little interest in drag racing of any kind. So my goal will be to improve the suspension as much as possible to make a GT or road course type vehicle. Doing some NA power, but nothing wild there either. Going 2wd saves money up front and improves weight distribution a little. We dont get much snow here, but a locker and good tires should get me around as well as my GTI on all seasons did when we do get snow or ice.

Just asking for additional help on this as itll be a daily driver for the most part Ontop of that the SVT Lightning is RWD too

I like this video how the person talks about what works for you. Not everything works for the same person, but works for 1 person doesn't always work for another person. Some people may be professional drivers. Some people may be avid drivers like driving on weekends. Or some people have a second car. Some people only have one car. Starting a project like this does get expensive. So not everybody has that money. So it's nice to have a pick up truck. Short bed 2 seats instead of having a like a sports car because after all that money and tuning, you're basically have a sleeper sports car. I do like trucks I live in California and at least while ile. You don't have that many trucks, but we do have trucks and rain. Is not that bad weather is pretty decent. I live in South California. So I am looking looking at these videos seeing how people modify their trucks. See what will work for me. I'm not looking to go 10000 horsepower. Something not that crazy and something. I could still work on a little bit myself. But also pay someone, but so far, this video is giving me some good information. Thank you, sorry for any about spelling.

I'm looking at a 24 regular cab 2wd and my only goal with it is strictly a cool tow rig for my gen 2 Whipple swapped 90 foxbody.. that I can have fun light to light.. or a roll etc..700 rear wheel is my end goal for it.. but I do want to definitely lower it and put a good street suspension on it but I want to be able to tow with it etc.. what's a good suspension set up?..

Say you're the average guy that wants to drive around in a low to mid 12 second regular cab and you don't have the excess budget for forced induction. Something to have fun with, cruise with the kid(s) (bench seat!). What's your thoughts on RWD? Is traction really hard on the street with an e85 tune and 3.73s? I've never had a problem with street traction on a low 12 second RWD car, but no performance truck experience. I'm leaning 2wd because they're cheaper and faster stock. I've driven rwd vehicles in the winter as long as I can remember and with blizzaks and weight you can go anywhere a 4wd truck on all seasons can go.
@DavidVanVoris11 ай бұрын
You should be okay but you won’t be able to do without a good tire that’s not really daily driveable. Well it is but wears faster. 4wd you could be on normal tires
