I feel like the aim120c is quite bad in the hornet when it comes to PVP. Thanks to Datalink the enemy will see you 99% of the time already once you lock him up and then if he isn't shit he will turn and lock you up too. With the aim9x you can dive between the mountains like you do and lock people before they even realize where you are coming from, and RWR doesn't even say a thing.

Fighting BVR with the 120 in the F18 takes some skill and knowledge about evasion. In my experience 15nm is the sweetspot. You can pretty reasonably notch or go cold on anything that’s thrown at you at further than that.
