Started with the 5r110 video because you know.. I own a 04 6.0 excursion, always good to do some research on your future repairs, but decent videos man, after watching the trans video it’s 50-50 if ill do my own, probably not, seems a little over my head. I think these engines have a bad rap rightfully so, but also every diesel has some fundamental issue, these are easy to delete, round hpop is an issue on the early models but honestly I have had one re&re in 6 hrs as a dyi mechanic, head studs etc, once you get some of the key items done these are easily 500k motors, just gotta treat them nice lol.

Nice! I found over hauling my 6.0 power stroke to be fairly easy. The bottom ends are pretty solid. I like to torque to 28-30lb ft personally. I think the key is that the injector cups are clean and there is no oil in the hole for the injector hold downs or you can get false torques.

Yeah they’re great trucks. Eventually want to build another dually as my hauler. Completely agree with you on that!

Look into dieselsite standpipes and dummy plugs. Ford ones have gone downhill since they outsourced their manufacturing to the cheapest bidder. Dieselsite makes a fail proof upgraded set and I definitely think you should look into them

Ill give them a look. So far still having good luck with Motorcraft as long as EOT stays in check.

@@FrankBUILTperformance is that $30k for just the engine build? Or does that include tranny, drive train, rest of truck also? Fabulous video!
@FrankBUILTperformance10 ай бұрын
@@idnld1588 that’s all the work on the truck. By the end of it I did a new engine, trans, injectors, driveline, front suspension, brakes, etc.

@@FrankBUILTperformanceI've heard of a guy in Georgia who retails these in the 50's and up. He claims to bull et proof them with studs, o-ringed heads and mishimoto radiators. In your opinion what is better to work on, the Power strokes or Cummins?
