F949S RC Plane Review Part 2 - Mode 1 Conversion

Lots of options for converting the F949S to mode 1 and replacing the motors, I guess. Note: The F949 receiver motherboard that I bought from AliExpress is no longer available. “Wltoys F949 RC Airplane spare parts Original motherboard (old version)”. Mine must have been the last one, as I can’t find any online - only the F949S version which uses MT99XX protocol and not compatible with my FlySky transmitter.

I'm surprised that you just didn't leave the board right out and add a pair of 2gm servos for the tail and mini FS 4-ch receiver plus a brushless motor. The frame on this is excellent but that 3-motor brushed drive system is a recipe for trouble. Actually we find the Volantex V761-1 Mini Trainstar to be a better unit than this. But again usually only available in mode2. Our TX16S radios have spoiled us. But the cost of them nowadays would cause many folks to baulk! 🙄😬

I've seen one review that said swapping the prop was hard to follow in the instructions.

I’ve read that too. Fortunately I have not had to do that yet.
