As a small Note here. You have to type in coordinates per station. They changed that, but now you have the ability to launch with one triggerpull more jams or JSOWs with different targets. And if you want to launch more than one JSOW or JDAM to one target it makes more sense to use the TOO mode. Because then you have to Programm the point only one time.

the lat long of the a10c with 3 decimal minutes gives you a precision of less than 1 meter
@Aus1Happy5 жыл бұрын
You can convert lat long to decimal seconds.. it's quicker to multiply the last decimal digits * 60
@grimreapers5 жыл бұрын
Yes but you go down to 3 meter accuracy??
@sj14615 жыл бұрын
Grim Reapers Yep! Generally less than 2m. 1 minute of latitude is essentially 1 nautical mile. 0.001 minutes is 0.001 nautical miles. 0.001 nm is 0.001852 km. 0.001852 km is 1.852 meters. Accuracy WRT longitude gets better the closer to the poles.

You always! Lase at the bottom of every target, if there is any chance at all that the laser can go/see through it. And never lase at glass/highly reflective materials, a laser is after all just focused light
@Proximax95 жыл бұрын
depends on laser. some lasers have ability to read first echo/last echo depending on situation where you need it. for example a leopard 2 range finder can do this... not sure if litening pod has this function, probably not :D
@bmbpdk5 жыл бұрын
@@Proximax9 agree, the Leo 2 crew told us to always lase at the roadwheel and middle of the vehicle, and at the foot of masts and such. And if the vehicle had any LWS, then at a object at the same depth but a vehicle length or two away from the intended target And yes, they have the option or choosing echo one or two

@@grimreapers IRL it should be around 30NM depending on atmospharic conditions, in game i don't know if its modeled, maybe you should test it out? P.S.: IRL there is aproximately a 10% margin of error in a laser rangefinder, but this is NOT MODELED(tested it myself)

@@grimreapers You’ve actually made me do an experiment :) I've put a target on a known location and tried to pull it's coordinates using the TGP. Interestingly, from distance of 9.2, 17.4, 34.8 it gave no difference in it's coordinate reading NOR in distance. I've done the experiment in the SoH while the target is on a flat surface. Perhaps a mountain terrain will give different results. I'll check that out.

Can you get accurate enough coordinates from ELINT pod? Is the Viggen only one that has the ELINT thing?
@grimreapers5 жыл бұрын
No ELINT is +-2-5 miles
@Proximax95 жыл бұрын
elint is very inaccurate, it only gives a rough estimate of the sam. and yes, at the moment viggen has the only automated elint data collector. you can however do this manually in any plane that has rwr. I once did this in hornet, flying around a sam and taking bearings with my rwr while also tracking my position in relation to bullseye. I got a pretty decent results, just by taking 3 measuring points I could narrow the sam to a 10x20nm area.

Well I think you can't "sit down" a guy in A-10C 50 nm away from the AO because, the LoD of DCS, engine doesn't load the units untill you get to about 10 - 15 nm from the actual units (at least that's the case for me) ... So you can see the units via TGP only when about 10nm away, and that sucks
