I know this is an old review, but I was looking at one of these, so your review is still proving to be very helpful. I trust your evaluations! THANKS

Another informative video, Timo. It's interesting to see how your confidence has grown since you started your reviews. They're a pleasure to watch. Keep up the good work. Thank you.

martynsnan thank you very much for your valuable and kind feedback. Much appreciated. Glad you enjoy the videos and find them of value. Yea, you are right. It was, still is, and most likely will always remain a learning process for me (as well). I always gain more experience with every product used and review shot. It really is a process. Also, I keep learning a lot from other bloggers, forumists and the pen/stationery community at large.

The black ring at the end of the nib is apparently very sensitive and can break. This ring helps the cap to close. Another issue is with the clip that can corrode. I saw a video about it. 😢

A very nice review. I totally agree with you, the modern FAber Castell steel nibs are some of the best. The faceted look and feel of this pen appeals to me too. As you say it is not a long pen, and yet it gives the impression of a larger pen. Thank you.

I like the looks, size and performance a lot as well. Thanks for your kind feedback!

Can anyone recommend a Faber Castell fountain pen that packs the same quality of nib as this one, but isn't as heavy?

Looks like an impressive pen! I was hoping the section would be hexagonal as well but this looks comfortable too. Most especially, that nib looks really good and wetter than the Lamy ones.

I have the Oak version. The front section isn't slippery at all. A great pen with a comforting feel due to the oak warming to the hand.

Do you think you could eyedropper convert this? I have the wood version but you can't convert that because it will leak through and stain the wood.

Brian Cullen no. It has metal inside.

Como suelo escribir con estilográfica, en la despedida de mi jubilación mis compañeros de trabajo me regalaron una Ondoro de madera de roble. Es una magnifica estilográfica y estoy muy contento con ella.

Thank you for this great review! It allowed me to make the decision to purchase this for my dad for his birthday. I think it is a nice size for him and he will enjoy writing with it.

Thank you for your kind words! Glad the review helped you. What a great present you made your dad. And how considerate of you to put in the time to watch reviews to make him a nice gift! I am sure he will enjoy his pen! I absolutely love mine. It is definitely one that I enjoy reaching for and writing with!

I am looking forward to giving him the pen! I am struggling with finding some ink to go along with it. Can you recommend a good brand for a black and a nice writing blue ink? I find myself struggling with these two simple colors. The reviews are all over the board with both of these colors.

Liz Colton something fancy/more upmarket/nicely looking or rather solid/gets-the-job-done/moderately priced?

Liz Colton some favorite blues of mine: J Herbin Eclat de Saphire, Pilot Iroshizuku Kon-Peki, Diamine Florida Blue, Pelikan Edelstein Sapphire, Rohrer & Klingner Blu Mare // blacks: Diamine Onyx, Rohrer & Klingner Leipziger Schwarz, Graf von Faber-Castel Carbon Black

Thank you! I ordered 2 of the blues and 2-blacks you recommended - thanks so much! I do appreciate your time. I have an open bottle of the Pilot Iroshizuku Kon-Peki so I will just include that in a separate vile for him to try. Enjoy your weekend!

Great review - now that you have been using the pen for some time - do you find that it writes straight away after being capped for a few days or more? Do fingerprints stick to the barrel portion of the pen? Thanks
@Scrivelynotes7 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your friendly words! The pen always writes when I pick it up. No problems at all. Fingerprints: since it is a matte black barrel with a slight surface structure, there is not a lot going on, no. But if you pay a little attention, you will definitely see fingerprints. It's not that it doesn't pick any up at all.

Thanks for the nice review. BTW what paper have you used there on the video?
@Scrivelynotes7 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your kind words! Was my pleasure! The paper I used was from a standard spiral bound notepad that I bought here in Sweden. Sort of one of the standard ones that you can get in any corner shop. So it's not a particular brand. Just says "NoteBook" and "Made in Germany". The original notepad was A4 - I have cut in into A6 and hold the sheets together with a paperclip. That's my multi purpose desk notepad so to speak :-)

IMHO, it resembles the legendary Rotring 600 FP not like the others you mentioned.
@Scrivelynotes5 жыл бұрын
Sam Saliba I see where you are coming from. Still not my association though tbh. I find the Rotring a lot closer to a Cd‘A Ecridor, for instance. Doesn’t matter anyway - it’s just associations, and these surely differ from person to person :).

Do you think you could eyedropper convert this?
@Scrivelynotes5 жыл бұрын
No, it has metal threading inside the barrel
@soundknight5 жыл бұрын
Could you possibly eyedropper the black one?
@Scrivelynotes5 жыл бұрын
Brian Cullen I wouldn’t do it as there are metal threads inside.

A very unusual morphology to this pen - Hexagonal. At first, I considered it may be a little uncomfortable to grip, despite the smoothed corners - it's definitely smaller than I would have anticipated, too, & having large hands, perhaps not entirely suitable; that said, it is a girthy pen, & I think I'll see if I can test one out, before purchase. I do like that smoked finish - nicely offset by the chromed cap, & of course, I would agree, F-C always have fantastic nibs - never had an issue with any that are in my collection. Once again, thank you very much for an informative & enjoyable presentation :)

Nice design, but the pen cap is plastic and cracked, rendering the pen useless.
