Guys I got my jerky yesterday fast 4 day shipping. Can't say it's the best jerky I've ever had but it's definitely the top two or three. And I like Paul have eaten a lot of jerky. Something to consider for the Wrecker is a Rory Irish style Land Anchor...Then you can rescue yourself in soft sand and lots of other situations. Doc.

Hey Paul you need to put a chrome ring around where that exhaust pipe comes out, it would make it look so much better. Plus it will keep the paint from turning black from the exhaust.

The drone footage is an awesome addition to the channel. It gives you a great perspective of what you guys do and the area you’re in. The tow truck hauling butt with the sxs on the back was amazing. We would never know the speed without the drone. Atta boy chase

When you are bending larger exhaust pipe in a shoe style bender one way to keep it from kinking is to cap off one end with a plate welded on, fill is with fine dry sand, pack it as much as you can, cap the open end and then bend it. The sand will not compress so it stops the bend from collapsing and give you a more consistent ID for better exhaust flow. A friend of mine used to own an exhaust shop and he would take 10 foot lengths of pipe and do this before bending it every few feet to get elbows that he could cut to length for use on customer vehicles when fabbing up custom exhaust systems where clearance was limited but the pipe had to have decent flow.

Wrong. Go watch engine masters and you will see that you can smash a set of headers until the tubes are almost flat and it doesn't change anything

Paul to get really good bends 2 choices, Either cap and fill the pipe with sand and cap the other end and bend or cap and fill with water cap that end and freeze solid then bend and your pipe will retain shape without restriction of exhaust 😃

Glad you mentioned the drone sound inside the cab. I thought you should avoid drilling the body side panel but now I understand why it was necessary! I agree that long trips with a constant exhaust sound get really annoying. I love this build, I'd rather drive something like the Willys than most any new vehicle.

That sand is crazy, it sneaks right up and grabs ya, even when your careful💙💙💙 jace be careful older engines have a breather on the valve cover and on that valiant it was missing the breather filter and you dont want to fill the engine with water haha that won't be good💙😊 not telling you what to do judt a helpful tip, always check the valve covered for breather holes before pressure washing💙

Hey there Paul I learned a trick for bending exhaust tubimg to keep from smashing it. Tape off one end of the tube and then you got find some of that sand around the house and fill the tube all the way up and tape the other end like the other and get to bending. The sand allows the tubing to bend and not smash, almost make it a mcguyver esque mandrel bender

If you need to enlarge a hole using a hole saw, put the larger hole saw on the mandrel first THEN screw on a hole saw that just slips in the existing hole.(as long as the small one nests inside the large one) The smaller hole saw will act as a pilot keeping the bigger one aligned. Not all hole saw mandrels have long enough threads, but a lot do.

Got our Jerky super fast, and yes, it's BETTER THAN BUCKEES!!! Chase: great drone footage of the recovery. However im afraid you jyst swamped that engine. Look at 10:30 of the video, you didn't cap off the breather port on the left valve cover. You shot water right down inside the head. Hopefully you changed that oil first.

Paul, gotta have a chrome tip on that exhaust to extend it out a little. Past experience with early Mustangs and 70s Corvettes showed me that short pipes led to paint blistering and ugly black rings in the paint. In fact, I think you experienced that also with the teardrop fender cutouts on Chads 60s C-10.

I joined the upside down club in my SxS two years ago not in the dunes just some adult beverages in a field and I dumped it with 3 buddies in with me. No serious injuries it was a scenario I don't wanna do again. And I'm grateful that kawasaki builds a pretty sought roll cage.

I put a 1/4" smooth shank in the holesaw arbors so as not to be tempted to drill with a saw in the mix and I think it holds the saw a little more stable

The exhaust is done and Paul is taking the Willy's to Chad's Fabs to finish her up. Jace has a new project car and Paul and Jace did a SXS recovery in the Utah sand dunes and got stuck! Lucky a fella was there and had a shovel to help get him out!

Good job. I think the exhaust pipe flush with the fender will leave a smoke mark on it. Maybe a little extension at the end of the pipe will keep the smoke off the fender.

Jace, if you didn't catch it off video, the breather filter was missing on the valve cover of the Valiant, which means there could be sand in there too.

There’s an old Jacques Tati movie called Traffic. Tati plays a camper designer taking a camper to a car show. It’s his misadventures. There’s a scene of Tati showing a police group the camper. It’s inside a vehicle much like yours. You should watch it for giggles but maybe some ideas. Also, many people have turned Honda Elements into camping vehicles. Enjoy your channel!

Paul, I used to haul 30 wheel Super B trains out of the swamp, sand, snow & ice. The only thing that made it possible was the Central Tire Inflation System that allowed the operator to adjust the tire inflation to suit the road. To get out of the sand drop the tire pressure & don't spin the wheels!

Always try to wench it out from a hard pack. Then go in tow transport mode. Makes recoveries so much easier.

Jace, a 440 will turn that Dart INTO AN ANIMAL.. You'll have to "Frame it, Cage it, Tub it, 4 link it, build your own 'K' member for the front, use a rack n pinion mounted ahead of 'K' member so the headers WILL go under the body".. I've done it to 3 "A" body Dodges.. Easy low 9sec 1/4 mile racer...

We drill a 1/4 " pilot hole all the time and don't use a bit on the hole saw. Just cut off a bolt or use a piece of cold rolled in place of the bit. You know when it grabs and breaks off the bit? Just replace it with a piece of cold rolled. Lots cheaper.
