@@patrickgreen2361 There's a reason I stayed at Sgt. for my entire career. When I would hear stuff on my shift that didn't sound right, I'd make a point to talk to the Deputy in question at debrief. well said King. I did 23 years and retired, experienced all the same things. I always told my people to keep the spirit of the law foremost, and when necessary, enforce the letter. The stories of this Game Officer detail why certain people perceive all law enforcement as ignorant power-abusing thugs. You and I know this is not true and these types of officers usually hang themselves with their antics. I am sorry that the Cox family had to endure this goofiness from this poor excuse of an officer. Nursing homes have regulations but they aren’t followed. My mom broke her leg, the ER dr wouldn’t keep her for 3 days so Medicare would pay. She couldn’t walk bc she’s 83 and couldn’t walk well before, had a Walker and was still hunched over. The only place that would take her was an hour away. There was no transport so I had to take her in my rental car (I was visiting from the west coast). It was an old facility with dilapidated furniture. Nurse and 2 aides were awesome the first night but the hallways were crowded, the rooms were made for one person years ago and the owner decided to put 2 in each room. There were 2 recliners in the room and the admissions person came in and took 1 out saying only 1 was allowed, however, other rooms had 2 and this one had been there as long as the other resident. They do not put railings on beds anymore bc they are considered constraints. My mom apparently tried to get up at 4:30am bc she didn’t know where she was. She fell flat on her face. The night nurse didn’t call me. I didn’t find out until I got there and a mobile X-ray tech was working with her. I couldn’t even see her until all that was done. I asked for the incident report and never received it. I talked to the administrator and she said she wasn’t told either, but I still didn’t get an incident report. Any job you’re in if someone gets hurt, you contact family immediately. I complained about some other things like my mother sitting in soiled briefs for 4-8 hours. The aides come in and turn off the button saying they will be right back. Several times I went out in the hallway and couldn’t see that specific side so I asked the one I saw if she could help me change my mother. Then when it’s meal t8me the sides are sent to the “dining room” so the people who are stuck in their rooms get a tray and wait if they need any help cutting food or taking off lids. My mom does not want to move in with me or I’d take her, but I couldn’t do 24/7 care by myself. She can’t walk right now and is a 2 person assist to transfer from bed, chair, commode. I moved her to a better facility and now I'm fighting them as well as Medicare now. They stopped sending claims and said insurance wouldn’t be pay it because she isn’t progressing. There is a Medicare settlement JIMMO v Sibelius that says no progression is not a reason not to pay. My mom has a little money but paying $8k a month will eat it all up. Then she’ll have to go on Medicaid and there’s a 5 year look back. My mother gives my brother money any time he asks and he doesn’t work. It’s at least $30k. Medicaid won’t pay until that money is covered bc they consider it as her giving away her assets. My mom still doesn’t understand she can’t gift money any more bc if she lives long enough to eat through her savings, I will be the one who needs to pay during the penalty period. Don’t have a pension nor much in savings so as don’t know what will happen to her; homeless? I can try a Go Fund Me to raise money, but I never thought I’d have to worry about this. These are the high quality types of people who run our country. They get paid to make the stupidest decisions, probably because they’re bored. Unfortunately, it’s getting worse not better, like your show. God bless you guys and your family!

Your side of the quagga muscle story is very different than how it was reported on Utah tv. The news talked with a DWR representative and she said the infraction had been dismissed before it was actually mailed out. It had been reviewed by the legal staff and dismissed so there was nothing for Paul Cox to fight. But 2 months later when you were about to have the hearing it was thrown out by the court. I think the DWR authorities have a difficult time with being truthful.
@scottwheeler2494 Жыл бұрын
ALL authorities have a hard time being truthful. It’s just the nature of the beast. Take a look sometimes at how many Dept of Ag employees carry a Federal gun. It’s in the thousands. Why? How many SWAT style teams are out there? Wayyyy too many. Sometimes I think they won’t be happy until they have militarized all law enforcement officers… down to the meter maids😂. Salute my badge and kiss my ass - lick my boots. Not a lot of freedom left out there.
@JimYeats Жыл бұрын
It’s not different. The representative said it was dismissed June 7th. They got notice in the mail in March. Yes, they mailed out the initial notice and then after review dismissed the case. Paul and Michelle had likely already been told the case was dismissed when they released the first video but had probably already recorded it a while back. So, to recap: DWR officer contacts them in December, they get notice in March, case was dismissed early June. Their first video comes out mid June.

I agree! The DWR was trying to do some damage control! If it had been dismissed before it was mailed out, why was it mailed out?

I'm so sorry to hear about your legal troubles. I've been following your channel for a while now, and I've always been impressed by your work ethic and your passion for fabrication. It's clear that you've put a lot of time and effort into your builds, and it's a shame that you're having to deal with this. I just wanted to say that I'm rooting for you. I hope that you're able to overcome these challenges with ease.

Glad that whole Quagga Mussel situation got resolved. I don't know if the Utah Game Dept has guidelines posted on their website, but some type of effort to educate the public would probably be helpful. The administrative costs to process a ticket are far more than the face value of the ticket itself. And if a person chooses to fight the ticket in court, the costs quadruple from there. Enforce the law; yes, but be judicious about it.

Utah is not an easy state to live in judicially speaking. I am glad Kane County treated them well and Kudos goes to Kane County Sheriffs office. They do not tolerate BS, never have and they never will. They have even kicked out the feds a few times.

@@miketyler4536 Yet this criminal DWR "officer" remains employed. The incident where he tried to kill a tame deer would have likely put you, me, or anyone else without connections in jail! There is NO excuse him to not be criminally charged for his actions and summarily terminated! As a former state employee (I finally quit due to all the sloth and nepotism-I'm willing to bet this clown evans has a relative somewhere in the Utah state gov't which got him the job and is keeping his sorry ass from being fired!) but I can assure you that it takes an act of God Himself to terminate a state employee
@papawheelie5835 Жыл бұрын
Glad to hear of the acquittal of this "case". What really ought to happen now is a charge against this officer for his abuse of power.
@miketyler4536 Жыл бұрын
Nope, Sgt Quaggas superiors backed him up completely and still believe they were in the wrong. The Legislators in Utah need to amend this asinine law and end this abuse!

This law is about revenue they gamble on collecting a fine and lost. Note how "protect and serve" has changed to "law enforcement."
Great seeing Landon driving all the different vehicles!!......Maybe when it fits, Landon and Ben or Shawn could go and pick up parts or vehicles at the junk yard with Landon driving (his forte) the rollback!!......Keep asking dad and Ben questions......Paul is a wealth of knowledge and a good explainer!!......Don't be afraid of making mistakes........Your dad has shown he makes mistakes too so.......You just do it twice.......I call it "the human element".......Go Landon!!

Good morning Paul please be careful knowing the tow truck is wounded don't do anything foolish to cause more damage to it I hope the officer realizes being an officer isn't about just writing tickets it is also about educating people on law and choosing to give someone a warning and use that as an educational opportunity will go a lot farther then giving them a ticket.

Normal people don’t become officers - it a group of people who want that power who choose law enforcement careers - and even if they start wanting to help people, over time they start getting cop friends and end up dealing with all the problems in our society- so they eventually think people fall into two groups - cops and criminals - and start to think they are what holds society together and get delusional.

In a weird way that wrecker takes me back 50 years - it’s the same color as the ‘73 Mustang I drove to high school. The end of that story happened one day when I had carpooled to school and my dad, who couldn’t stand paying 70 cents for gas in a 10mpg car, traded it in on a ‘74 Tonka yellow 3 on the column AMC Hornet. Oh well, I probably would have killed myself in Mustang eventually.
