Fabricator Base Location | Subnautica Below Zero

In this Subnautica Below Zero guide, I will show you where to the find the Fabricator Base within the Fabricator Caverns biome. This location has multiple fabricators that allow you to build a new body for Al-An. To build Al-An's body, will require the Organs, Skeleton and Tissue. The Fabricator base is at 950m, which makes it the deepest point in the game and therefore will require depth module MK3 for the Seatruck or Depth Module Mark 2 for the Prawn Suit.

I’m a little crazy so in early game when I first got my prawn suit I grappled onto all the shadow leviathans and drilled them to death so now when I am doing important things here I don’t have to deal with them lucky me lol

If you do not have the perimeter defense system, just look out for the shadow leviathan and hop out of the pilot seat when you hear it getting close/attacking. It will not attack you if you are just standing inside your sea-truck. However this requires you have at least one module for it.

I just used prawn with grapple and drill arm. I killed 1 shadow leviathan in crystal caves and 2 in fabricator

@@justacommenter4079 I can't speak for him but it only took me 5 minutes to kill a shadow leviathan. For me it was harder than killing the sea dragon.

@@justacommenter4079 I think it's easier with the seatruck. I keep running into it and using the shock defense thingy. If you are careful not to run into terrain it doesn't take much of your seatruck's hp. Hop out repair, repeat. Took me around 5 minutes too I think. I've killed all four at this point.

This was doing my nut in. I was literally around the other side of the column hiding from those Shadow Leviathan. I thought to myself, AL-AN said there was a substantial facility and I thought 'Where then?' If it's that big, where the bloody hell is it. I was going around in circles and once I got there, I realised I had to go all the way back to my base to pick up the fabricator items 🙄.

@@tonih8344 I learned those mistakes from the first game. I made more beacons now. You'll only regret it later. I was exploring, not really following the story. I suppose in theory, having an open world gets you to locations earlier than you would of thought and I finished the game not realising I could 'cure' the frosted leviathan. I read about it but thought 'fuck that!'. Defrost him and then scarper. Best avoid it, so I did. Seems optional I guess.

@@yggdrasil7942 The game is not very clear on some objectives. The rule seems : (i) dont actively search for something, you wont find it. (ii) Wander randomly, you will end up to find something (iii) continue to wander randomly and you will figure how to solve some objective ...that you had no idea (iv) Make beacons and find an accurate name or you will be sorry later

Side tip: if you have the teleporter attachment to the seatruck leave it at the beginning of the red crystal area. You will have more than enough oxygen if you have the Ultra Tank. Whenever you're done you can just teleport back. The Shadow Leviathan is easy to avoid as long as you have a medkit and some cover.

Only just discovered that the perimeter defences are not passive but that I actually have to activate them. I thought by installing them they were just there and working 🙄🙄🙄🙄so thx for that demo too as at the very end of the game I finally work out how to use them and what a time to do that. Here’s a trick I figured out you can do when a leviathan grabs your sea truck.You activate your shock before you get in their mouth and you won’t take any damage but you’ll probably need decent reflexes

So short story here: I was in my prawn when I went down there, shadow attacked me till I was at 20 durability, I killed it, went into the base, crafted the organs, only to realize there was a SECOND shadow leviathan and it destroyed my prawn

btw you can do this with MK 2 depth for sea-truck. I brought along two ultra capacity tanks and only needed one to dive down far enough to enter the facility. Just be ready to outmanoeuvre the Shadow Leviathans

A tip is if you have a module attached to your sea truck, you can stand up immediately and he won't attack you, as long as you stay inside the truck

i ended up using commands to give myself the items (rip achievement) but i did have the items to build him back at my base so its not technically cheating in my opinion. just didnt know you had to bring them with you
