Fabulous Fireplaces: The Marble Saloon |

Our new series of short videos takes a look at some of the wonderful fire surrounds that can be found inside Wentworth Woodhouse. We've chosen a selection from rooms in both the Palladian and the Baroque sides of the House and the series includes some of the grandest fireplaces, as well as some of the more modest ones.
Each one tells a different story, and for the first video in the series, we're looking at the fire surrounds in the Marble Saloon.

Are the fireplaces in working order though? Or do you need to clean the chimneys

Sadly no, they're not working fireplaces any more. The cost of cleaning and lining the chimneys and flues is so great that we're not treating it as a priority at the moment.
