Such a grand place. Whoever decorated it, did such a great job. It's so elegant, but the color scheme is so comforting and cozy. I love all the unique carvings and molding. Gorgeous.

So impressed how Moroccans preserved the old 19th century-built houses instead of razing them and building boring modern homes.

I always want to see the kitchen, and that is one of the best without being an industrial appearance. Also, I loved the bathrooms. I usually note that bathrooms are there, clean, functional, but I would describe these as being romantically orientalist. Such fun!

Wow, that kitchen! That seems to be the size that could handle the amount of people the structure is meant to contain. That’s where I’ve often been puzzled, the ratio of occupants and guest spaces to the size of space meant to feed them. It also occurred to after viewing some of the lovely properties you’ve featured, that cooking may have been previously located on the roof terraces.

Kitchens are often the weak spots in Riads. Traditionally, the lady of the house would not go there - it was for staff only. As Marrakech develops, with it's amazing culinary tradition, so more Riads are giving importance and more space to the kitchen. Terraces do not have an importance in Marrakechi culture. Most locals will hide from the sun. It is the Europeans who have brought the roof terrace into fashion. Moroccan families would never think of cooking on the roof.

@@bosworthpropertymarrakech Thank you for satisfying my curiosity. I live in the California desert and I can relate to phenomenon of the differences between local and tourist behaviors. Locals do everything in the morning or after the sun sets, tourists are out in the full desert sun. I think the terraces would be lovely at night, not in the day.

Gorgeous! This seems underpriced at 835K euros to be honest given the quality of those rooms In the beginning of rooftop terrace shot there looks like there is more terrace adjoining the area you showed through a doorway. Is that a separate property's terrace? If so it's interesting that there's an open door to it
@bosworthpropertymarrakech2 жыл бұрын
There were two conjoined properties. The terrace door has now been closed.

Nice presentation except the part where you call a design clearly Berber neo-colonial style, it was wrong and it was borderline insulting for us Berbers, our culture and our architecture and our design recognizable all over the world , especially when you know what the neo-colonial style looks like. As a Moroccan, Berber from Marrakech, I confess that I did not like this error.
@bosworthpropertymarrakech2 жыл бұрын
This Riad was entirely renovated in 1999 and had certain features added - like the carved balustrades - that reflect French influence. I am a lover of Berber culture and architecture, so I'm sorry that you felt offended. Today Riads offer a variety of influences and interiors that makes each one unique and special.
