There's no way the network would allow that. And the reasoning behind it, is quite simple actually. Americans love over exaggerated drama & tension. And most of the viewers wouldn't tune in, if there was a cooking show where everything went smoothly for the most part. Therefore they choose amateurs & home cooks for Masterchef or Hells Kitchen. While everything on Tv is staged & follows a script to some degree, at least the Uk versions of all of those shows, are leaning more towards the educational aspect, rather than the reality TV aspect. I can't say that I ever picked up something useful from watching the US version. While the UK version is so knowledgeable, that even actual chefs like myself see a new technique in the skills tests, or a new flavor combination that hasn't come to my mind yet. etc Plus, I actually think that a silent stare from Marcus Wearing is much more frightening than a shouting from Gordon Ramsay, since barking dogs rarely ever bite. lol That's my take on it anyways. I think they call 3 judges for varying opinions on the food, not everybody always agrees. I certainly didn’t think he’s feedback was “Evil” 🤔

They should have served one plate for those three judges. They are not even eating one third of the portion on the plate.

Perhaps it's just me, but this is not 'real' food. Its very clever and I'm sure it's wonderful, but ffs, there's no way most of us could ever afford to eat in the establishments these talented people work in.

I am so tired of judges and chefs talking about how something "works". Screw that - it either tastes good or it doesn't. Likewise with the bullshit phrase "flavour profile". We have a word in English for that; it's called "taste".
