@Rhodri Efans Mate, back then we were running against the clock. Now the clock is chasing us, so fat shame yourself into some running gear for 2021. I need to do the same. I will do the same mate and get over to UK and show Fabziy how to do real runs haha. Anyone can run but can you still hit targets down range after? This is the question?. . . . Ooops, big mouth talking here. . . ;-)

6.45s a mental time, fair play to him for that! My on was a bang average 7.46 and I beasted myself to get that. It was nearly 24 years ago though! My strategy back then was to keep a lad Connolly in sight cos he always got a low 7 mins time. I can probably spit further than I can run now though!

@@pelekirokovadaa1139 It's tabbing, run, walk, run walk all the way through. It's the best way to increase speed over ground without causing too much fatigue compared to a straight run. The walking section lowers the heart rate without the need for a stop.

@FPSPayback
@FPSPayback 4 жыл бұрын
I went to enlist as soon as I decided it was for me, you don't have to be that fit get in, the standards are fairly tame for some trades. You just have to be fit to stay in. As long as you can run on bleep tests (speed training) and you have decent upper body strength (for the med ball throw). You can probably pass the assessment. Never worry you're not enough, because it's all mental. You're fitter than you realise if you just push yourself.
@Fabziy
@Fabziy 4 жыл бұрын
You need to be FIT period,....don't come here with a border line fitness you're just setting yourself up to fail. remember it's not only passing AC but you need to also maintain this through training..My advice be physical and mentally ready.
@FPSPayback

Absolutely! I never meant keep it baseline, I just meant push yourself and you'll be surprised how fit you actually are/can be
@catghost417
@catghost417 4 жыл бұрын
@@FPSPayback with how my current fitness level is at, i'd rather carry on training (specifically my cardio as that's where i've always struggled) before i send papers in, more so recently got to do some work where i had to do about a 200m run, wasn't so bad until after the 5-7th run haha, either way better to be fit when joining than humiliating myself for not being fit enough simple :)

Stunning pace Great Channel. Sugestion Could we have a weight in at the beginning 45lb not including the water you use? As PTI's could we see you guys with rifle and helmet and bergen's full of kit you use for Operations. Also, explain the distance and time you guys are doing this in. Keep up the great work. Try the 24 miler with 45lb 12x miles per day full kit rifle and helmet. Show the Civvives how really hard this really is.

i would say they are tough PT Instructors but not the toughest because you have to look at the Royal marines and the Para's PT instructors who will be a lot tougher, unless these PTI's cap badges are of the ones I've just mentioned then yes they would be the toughest there is, having said that another great video
@connorknight6776
@connorknight6776 4 жыл бұрын
Basic training PTIs are hand picked out of all PTIs. Theirs a few Para PTIS at Pirbright and a lot of infantry lads who have done a few tours. Trust me their tough. And can get anyone fit enough to deploy into the field army
@connorknight6776

and Royal Marines are no different to us. Yes their basic training and entry requirements are harder but that doesn’t mean that a lot of us can’t get to the same fitness level as the marines or even better. You get me?
@Ex3Para
@Ex3Para 4 жыл бұрын
You’re correct Anthony Parker. I’m ex 3 Para from in the 90’s, and PTI’s all need to be fit, but the PTI’s for the final tests of the Paras and the RM’s are of another level. This is because the fitness that the trainees have by the time they reach their final physical tests is insanely high, so the level needed for the guys testing and monitoring these lads needs to be even higher, for obvious reasons.... It would be ridiculous to have people with less fitness, judge the levels of others.
