6.45s a mental time, fair play to him for that! My on was a bang average 7.46 and I beasted myself to get that. It was nearly 24 years ago though! My strategy back then was to keep a lad Connolly in sight cos he always got a low 7 mins time. I can probably spit further than I can run now though!

@FPSPayback4 жыл бұрын
I went to enlist as soon as I decided it was for me, you don't have to be that fit get in, the standards are fairly tame for some trades. You just have to be fit to stay in. As long as you can run on bleep tests (speed training) and you have decent upper body strength (for the med ball throw). You can probably pass the assessment. Never worry you're not enough, because it's all mental. You're fitter than you realise if you just push yourself.
@Fabziy4 жыл бұрын
You need to be FIT period,....don't come here with a border line fitness you're just setting yourself up to fail. remember it's not only passing AC but you need to also maintain this through training..My advice be physical and mentally ready.

@@FPSPayback with how my current fitness level is at, i'd rather carry on training (specifically my cardio as that's where i've always struggled) before i send papers in, more so recently got to do some work where i had to do about a 200m run, wasn't so bad until after the 5-7th run haha, either way better to be fit when joining than humiliating myself for not being fit enough simple :)

You’re correct Anthony Parker. I’m ex 3 Para from in the 90’s, and PTI’s all need to be fit, but the PTI’s for the final tests of the Paras and the RM’s are of another level. This is because the fitness that the trainees have by the time they reach their final physical tests is insanely high, so the level needed for the guys testing and monitoring these lads needs to be even higher, for obvious reasons.... It would be ridiculous to have people with less fitness, judge the levels of others.
