Finally a reviewer that isn’t full of themselves or full of … it. Thanks for the no nonsense review!

@@stldenise I tried so many things trying to get the Prusa MMU working in my limited space and just gave up. So I am really looking forward to the AMS.

Great video and good editing. I saw you post on twitter just yesterday or the day before I think and you mentioned getting into reviews. You're doing well and this was a fair and insightful take on both printers.

FYI, the P1P you can use it in LAN only mode, send prints to it, and avoid the cloud. cloud is only needed for firmware updates.
@stldenise Жыл бұрын
Good point! I''ve just been using the Cloud, haven't had any outages in a while.
@dejedejsson Жыл бұрын
So then you are practically stuck with stock firmware, because as soon as you go online BL sucks up all your data, nice!
@sirwill3d Жыл бұрын
@@dejedejsson You could factory reset your printer, and other would be no data stored in the printer (Really very little anyway, it is on the SD Card for most part). You could create a bogus email address account to sign into Bambu Handy, take it online, and get the firmware update. After the update switch back to LAN Only mode. Sign out of Handy. And if you use an email dedicated to the Bambu account, and you don't leave it signed in anywhere there is no data to grab ever.

@sirwill3d Жыл бұрын
@@charlesramsay7987 Actually personal opinion no great loss. But I think that might change also back to working in LAN only mode on the P1P. It started as LAN Only that is for sure.

I kinda like the idea of that AMS but i don't like the waste it produces, especially in none tuned settings. Since most of my prints would be like 2 colors i would rather go the IDEX route and choose a Sovol SV04 these days. But I do hope that Sovol or Creality come up with a newer, more modern IDEX machine, maybe with Klipper, maybe with Core xy. Seems like Bambu Labs hold on to their AMS idea with all their models for now. So an IDEX machine with open Klipper, the optic and the price of the K1 and some of the refined software tweaks of the Bambu Lab would be the best combination for me.

Everyone makes videos on Chinese printers. Where are the Americans?
@stldenise Жыл бұрын
There are a lot of Chinese printers ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I do have plans to make videos with my Wuxn, a really nice printer made in Colorado! Then there's the Lulzbot from North Dakota, and of course the Rook & Voron are kinda "international" because you download free plans, buy a kit and make it yourself.
@morbus5726 Жыл бұрын
The only American company I know of is lulzbot, and they went bankrupt due to their high prices and lack of innovation
@stldenise Жыл бұрын
@@morbus5726 Lulzbot was purchased by an American investor and moved to North Dakota. They do high end printers, and only recently started collaborating with media types like myself. I don't think it was lack of innovation -- more a problem with how to profit while being extremely open source. They're doing some interesting stuff with 3D printing biomaterials for medical research that could be game changing.

Tom's Hardware has Proprietary nozzle as a con for K1, which is not true, it just shows that their review is based on ignorance of the printer,and make their review Obsolete!
@richardbertacchi5016 Жыл бұрын
The K1 and CRM4 share a nozzle that has a slightly longer tip than the standard (and knockoff) E3D Volcano nozzles. On the CRM4 a standard volcano will not clear the fan shroud and cannot be used. This may not be a problem on the K1 but the fact remains that the nozzles are different and available from no one other than Creality that I am aware of.
@dejedejsson Жыл бұрын
Well, if you have seen the video, it is mentioned that the Volcano nozzles and other nozzles work fine on the K1 and there are several videos out there that also confirm this!@@richardbertacchi5016
@NathanBuildsRobots Жыл бұрын
@@dejedejssonyes it works but it’s not perfect. Also if the bed is significantly off level, switching to the regular volcano could require a manual re-leveling procedure. I’d say it’s proprietary-ish.
@dejedejsson Жыл бұрын
Well, if the bed is significantly off level, you have problems even with proprietary nozzles, !?@@NathanBuildsRobots
@haalra Жыл бұрын
@@NathanBuildsRobotsdo you mean by „off level“ that the bed would collide with the upper end of one of the spindles? the bed on my K1 had roughly 2mm deviation between high/lowpoint and there were still 2mm+ clearance left on any side with a cht volcano in place. then you could also remove the top screws to gain some more clearance if you’re hard set to not do a manual bed level
