Frances Haugen has a brilliant talent of explaining complex system's effects on the public in a way that is digestible and prompts action. Her observation of FB and other social media management's obfuscation when met with genuine questioning of their methods and priorities allows us to challenge the elephant in the room with some foundation. Also, Katie, yes, parents *should* take screens away before bedtime, but in reality, many are also on screens, whether they're addicted to them or have so much work to do they have no other option. The simple and elegant idea to slow down feeds around that time (based on timezone) is brilliant as it taps in to the same system that creates addiction to more content, while physically slowing it down. That nudge, that small frustration, is an example of functional design thinking. Thank you Frances!!! I remain a huge fan. Thank you for your integrity, and confidence in stating the truth.

Profit is a high priority but when profit is the highest priority everything else falls away including truth, safety, mental health and the values we say we believe in .

Did the government know? And did the government act? What part of the government should have been alerted when the White House was involved?
