I find that kind of statement idiotic James Rivers. Many folk are African and don't need to agree with Winnie Madikizela Mandela to be true African. So what is a true African please pray tell. As a journalist I was like many others at the time in the forefront of the sweeping political changes in South Africa. In my view she was evil, anebriated with the idea of power, she certainly is not a mother of any nation let alone a mother of South Africa, as we are not a nation, but many people's divided, that's in great a part due to two parties, the National Party and the ANC. Winnie never epitomised unity, but hankered on dividing the races in South Africa, just like all her loveable STALL...WARTS in the ANC are doing now. She was a murderer full stop. She was dishonest even as a deputy minister under her own husband's government, so much so that Nelson and her had irreconcilable differences. Let's not paint her with a brush likened to that of an artist like Michael Angelo, she certainly was no Angel at all. A liar, narcissist of the highest kind

The Boers killed hundreds of thousands of children, but when the death of a 14-year-old boy occurred in Winnie's dwelling, she was accused of the crime of which did seem so clear as to who was truly responsible. Do not get me wrong, I do not say what happeded to that poor child was right, but the inccident was used against her and she was painted black. To me, Winnie was a true mama of Africa, she knew our pains and she devoted her life, and indeed put her family in great danger for the sake of all South Africa people. She did not fight whites but she fought for equality. She could not stand and watch her fellow black South Africans get killed and jailed for stupid reasons. She did what was necessary to end the agony. R.I.P mama!

She's the most powerful woman in Africa who was not afraid to stand up and fight for what she believed in. She championed the fight to freedom but she humbly puts it that she's not the only mother of the nation but all other women in her age group who contributed to the end of apartheid. Indeed Mandela is popular and famous because of Winnie. May God bless you.

@The Blood Of Ogun #AlphaBlack #B1 oh but it does you ignorant fool, Nomzamo (winnie) was a Xhosa, one of the people she killed was a 14 year old named Stompie, he was a member of the UDF, the UDF was the biggest Zulu party and still is. If you had known anything about even your own heritage you would have known that the real fight was amongst tribes, what you so called "African-Americans" saw on TV was the humanitarian vision of the matter, when what was actually happening was a continuation of a long running tribal war. You see, if you'd known anything about your bantu heritage you'd know what a mighty force the zulu's were, you would know who Shaka Zulu is, you would know that he wiped out 2000000 tribesman from other tribes, including the Xhosa. Learn your heritage, because if you were a Zulu, you were an enemy of winnie. Also, you would know that it was probably chiefs from the enemy tribe who caught your forefathers and sold them to the Europeans and the Arabians, because the Europeans couldn't venture into Africa as they got sick and died. You see you African-Americans claim your African heritage but you don't know shit about Africa, you don't even speak your mother tongue anymore.

Winnie Mandela made great contributions to the liberation of black South Africans who were encumbered with the yoke of apartheid. Though somethings went seriously wrong in the processes of this struggles, it should be noted that she meant well for black south Africans and south Africa as a nation for all South Africans: blacks and white. All her effort was geared towards realizing equity and common good for all.

You do not need to call Winnie Mandela a black Saint we all know she is black. It is strange that you feel the need to put black before Saint. If you were Christian you would know that they are many black and Africa saints. We do no see the need to put black before their title. Here a few names Josephine Bakhita. Augustine of Hippo, Saint Maurice, Anthony of Alexandria. There's however Saint Moses the Black (330-405) 😃.

I am crying because mama did not want this type of freedom where blacks are still oppressed and they are subject to their white counter parts. We really want what mama wanted for Blacks economic freedom in our life time and we are not ashamed for that. ANC has failed her ideas and that of Chris Hani.

Her mistake out of desperation was to throw daggers, not speaking daggers only. They trapped her in a corner. Even if she did not do the violence herself, some bad kids that adored her took it too far and they blamed her instead.

Divide and Conquer! They tried to destroy Winnie in so many ways: Prison, beatings, banishment, accusing her of murder which they most likely did themselves and setting her up so many times with negative and untrue press news. All this because of her fighting to help her people. We must not believe the lies of those who tried to destroy our sister.

That turncoat Nelson Mandela was no peace icon. You can't be pursuing peace and not seeking justice for his own oppressed people. "True peace is NOT merely the absence of some negative force-confusion, tension, war- but the presence of some positive force-Justice, goodwill...." (Rev. Martin Luther King). What justice was obtained from the "fake so-called truth and reconciliation commitee (JUST-THIS)-it was nothing more than an exercise carried out by the psuedo-activists to appease their white/caucasoids oppressors(dutch afrikaaners and their euro-american collaborators) AND to malign the character of WINNIE MANDELA because they didn't want her to become President of south afrika knowing very well that unlike the gutless ARIELS in the ANC she would have dismantled the "economic aparatheid status quo" in SA that nelson mandela had assured DeClerk he would have left intact. To pursue unity at all cost to appease one's oppressor without some form of compensation (reparatory justice) is an act of wickedness and betrayal to the victims of exploitation/oppression Did apartheid come to an end in south afrika (SA) in 1994 ? If it did then why is it that the mineral resources and the majority of the land (80% of the land are still to this day controlled by the 3% of the white minority/white/caucasoid usurpers in SA ??? If Nelson Mandela and the ANC (native lieutenants of the dutch afrikaaners and their euro-american collaborators) had liberated south afrika in 1994 then why did the government of the ANC massacre black workers in Marikana in 2012 to protect the interest of the very people(white people/caucasoids who were the architect of the oppressive apartheid regime in SA ???.

Winnie M. Mandela is the face of the 21 Centrury woman. However she was years a head Of her time. She is a leader and being a woman added to her powerful legacy. She was a lioness. Loved, hunted for the roots, protected and bread the nation of South Africa. Many might not be willing to admit but energy is authentic and conscious. Can never displace honor. Winnie made it easy for me to identify my own strengths. She stood her ground and ran a liberation without a man....this was the one tho g that gave black women the image we needed to invite our own soul fire... And I felt that her state let her down. Power only had a masculine connotation! Amandla
