the Kursk root icon came to my small parish in Lockhart, Tx. i prayed and prepared myself greatly for this. i am about 10 feet from the church doors, and i am hit with the great rose perfume of incense... akathists were being sung, and my heart was pounding out of my chest to see her... even on the car ride there, it was like waiting to see a friend you have never met in person before.... and before i was able to venerate her, all my intentions were gone from my head... and i prostrated and venerated her... i did this almost 4 times while i was in church... i could not be pulled away from her... this was my testimony, 4/2/21

I remember when the icon came to my parish. When I went to venerate her, there was such a fragance. I felt a lot of peace, even though everything else in my life was crumbling. No other consolation or conversation could help me at the time; yet just being near the Mother of God was enough.

I saw how long the length of this video was and thought to myself that I wouldn't have time to watch this, but I felt like these past 12 minutes were actually 2 minutes. I was very engaged in watching this beautiful video. Today's the 40th day of my grandpa's passing, and this was just what I needed to watch. Thank you.

When we were living back east we had the blessing of venerating this icon on several occasions. It's hard to comprehend what a blessing it truly was. I've since shown my children KZbin videos of the Kursk root icon being venerated in Russia. The sheer amount of the faithful and the obvious reverence and respect the Russian have for her is incredible. Seeing these videos puts into perspective what a blessing it is to be in her presence!

I only wish I can see this icon and venerate it before I leave this world.

Will the person i also found one time on internet an icon that i really liked. But i had no possibility to go that church where the icon is and buy a copy so.... i made my own copy. I just went to a shop, i printed the icon and that's it. You can also do the same if you like and feel such a connection to this particular icon. 😊 and then pray , you never know. Do it! Wonders happen everywhere and anytime🙏

Never heard of this icon. Every icon has it's own story and beauty. I think it doesn't really matter at what icon you pray. I was helped many times and i have different icons. And there were times when i had no icon, but i still received help ( especially that time). So i think it's not about the icon it's about the faith. But icons are valuable because you see them everyday and remind you , you are not alone. 🙏 still thank you for the video. Happy that, that man who wanted to kill himself found peace again. God bless you all 🙏

Rashad Lewis but that isn’t what it is. If you look at the Iveron icon of the mother of God, they aren’t black. Why make it all about race too?
@LilRichNigga244 жыл бұрын
If your wanting a real dialogue then I'll dialogue, i dont know if you're a brother or not but the greeks were black before the caucasian race killed most of them off like every other civilization they've done too. Once they take over they've "white-washed" everything that pertains to those people.. and to answer your second question, the bible speakes of race and color because God knew that the heathens would change their race and ethnicity. And if color didn't matter, why would the Europeans change Yahawashi (Jesus Christ) from having the traits of a so called black man to a so called white man. Its all in history brother. Just study and do your research
@patrickmartin87834 жыл бұрын
Rashad Lewis “I don’t know if you’re a brother or not” shows it all right there. Always have to be making everything about race. Unbelievable. Race doesn’t matter, it really doesn’t. Blacks, whites, Asians, etc. we are all Gods children. We are not the old westerners, imperialists of Europe. We were not slave owners, etc.

Does ROCOR still have a reason to exist now that the Russian Orthodox Church is one?
@user-qs9cz4bp3r Жыл бұрын
Today the Old and Authentic ROCOR is the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad (ROCA) that was formed in 1920 by bishops who were forced to leave their homeland along with millions of Russian people, all fleeing the horrors of the communist system. The ROCA bishops, clergy, and laity remain loyal to the original mission of an independent ROCA. Despite protests from within the ranks of bishops, clergy, and laypeople, on May 17, 2007, a large part of the ROCA entered into Eucharistic communion with the MP with the signing of the “Act of Canonical Communion” and is now known as the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia (ROCOR - MP). The Moscow Patriarchate (MP) and the current ROCOR-MP do need to repent of the heresies of Ecumenism and Sergianism. The smaller part of ROCA that chose to remain loyal to the historical Russian Orthodox Church and to continue the mission of the ROCA is not in Eucharistic communion with the Moscow Patriarchate (MP), the state-controlled official Russian Church. The Churches of the ROCA remnant are present today in the Diaspora District of ROCA. The list of Parishes is present on the rocana and auroca web sites. The ROCA Churches are located in Australia, New Zealand, St. Petersburg, as well as in the U.S. and Canada. For these who would like to understand more about the history of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad (ROCA) they can read the article "ROCA the Beacon Of Light" by Protopriest Nikita Grigoriev on the rocana web site. Also, we remember that the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad (ROCA) Council of Bishops in August 1983 in the person of its Metropolitan Philaret of New York (1903-1985), noting the extent of the Ecumenist contagion, issued an Anathema to Ecumenism in the straight line of the Holy Fathers, condemning anyone who participated in this heresy. When the Church pronounces anathema on a certain heresy, we must NOT forget that it is for eternity. Anathema to Ecumenism (1983) "To those who attack the Church of Christ by teaching that Christ’s Church is divided into so-called “branches” which differ in doctrine and way of life, or that the Church does not exist visibly, but will be formed in the future when all “branches” or sects or denominations, and even religions will be united into one body; and who do not distinguish the priesthood and mysteries of the Church from those of the heretics, but say that the baptism and eucharist of heretics is effectual for salvation; therefore, to those who knowingly have communion with these aforementioned heretics or who advocate, disseminate, or defend their new heresy of Ecumenism under the pretext of brotherly love or the supposed unification of separated Christians, Anathema! --- Note: The relics of Metropolitan Philaret of New York were found to be completely incorrupt in 1998.

Oh my gosh, Father (or Father Deacon) Peter - at least look HAPPIER .....do you know how gloomy, compared to when a happy miracle occurs in the OCA? The One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church isn't meant to look like an old Soviet news announcement....on the contrary, our Holy Scriptures say that when one member rejoices, all the other members rejoice.... I think ROCOR is forgetting this, and it makes it difficult to get the support you need for the assistance you want, among any other tribulations. We all don't know how many time Jesus smiled during His life...but SMILE. As they say in the world "smiles are free - they don't cost anything." :-)
@patrickmartin87834 жыл бұрын
You are judging what’s on the outside here. You clearly don’t know how he is on the inside. Telling him to look happier...unbelievable. I don’t understand the comparison to a Soviet broadcast either. And no, the Russian church abroad isn’t missing happiness or whatever you said. When will it be good enough for you?
