I was 24 when this album came out; I still have it and all the Faces and Rod albums. These guys were so much fun in concert. I "Had Me A Real Good Time."

you have impeccable taste.always loved this tune .on the record of course, it starts off w/ vocals. some of the best R&R songs do that.Rod Stewart is/was an underrated songwriter. but he's admitted that the process of writing is a lot of work.I swear Lennon was right. Chuck Berry's poetry is all over the rock masters of the 60's &70's.

My first ever concert, Glasgow Apollo December 1973, massive fan bought everything by Rod and The Faces in the seventies. Just wish they could`ve got back together years later and show what true "Blues/Rock`n Roll" and brilliant songs they were all about. Will never tire of listening to this group.

Rod and Ronmie had played together even Before the Faces with Jeff Beck group. Jeff spoke up and said he was gonna fire Ronnie and Rod said if Ronnie goes I go. Hence after Ronnie ask Rod to join him you got the faces. There were things Rod said he wanted to do, certain songs that he couldn't do with the faces. Ronnie and Rod were very close since the beginning and Rod did tell Ronnie before the others he would be pushing onto a solo career . I think the Stone's found this out and Keith ask Ronnie to join the Stones. Rod was always very close with Ronnie he said and done his best to keep them both away from the parties and drugs. Not to say they never indulged but tried their best to keep it at a minimum.
@chaddamp28945 ай бұрын
Rod has always had a very supportive,loving and caring strong family behind him,I'm sure that pulled him away from the players who were more likely to be drug takers etc?

poor old Ronnie Lane... The finest Rock and roll/ folk/ blues, outfit ever to have existed. The difference was that Rod always wanted the Race horse and Ronnie Lane was rather content with a fire place and country Ale... (my opinion)

They were great no doubt, but a step down from the Stones overall. Exile is my fave album and I love Stickey Fingrrs and Goats Head Soup, but between the faces, Rod Stewart and Ronnies first solo album, they did better recorded work then the Stones from 70 to 74. But those Stones tours of 72 and 73 over shadowed the Faces tours during the same time and the combination of the Stones albums before and after for 8 years makes it no contest. But in the early 70s their recorded output was unreal
