You said that if you always fold with a Q here, that it's an exploitable fold. But is it really exploitable if your opponents have no way of knowing you have a Q. As far as they know (assuming it's not a hand that shows up in a video like this), you could be giving up on a hand you were trying to get through as a bluff.
@FindingEquilibrium2 жыл бұрын
You are right that your opponent's won't know what your bluffcatching strategy looks like on a hand by hand basis. The issue is if you fold all Qx, it likely means that overall, you aren't calling that much, and if you take a similar position in other hands, it will show up in your aggregate defending frequencies, which your opponent's can see. Think about it - if you play against someone and they are folding hand after hand after hand, eventually you are going to think they are weak and you will start overbluffing him - even if you don't know what specific hands he has been folding with. So, although no human can replicate a GTO strategy, the way most "balance" their range and try to lessen their exploitability, is by, in each hand, choosing the best combos to allocate to various buckets (i.e. call, value bet, bluff, etc.). If you do this for individual hands with decent efficiency, what tends to end up happening is that your overall frequencies will look balanced in the aggregate (even if you make mistakes here and there when choosing the "right" combos).

I mean the quote 'just fold when people overbet for their tournament life' is definitely something everyone should adhere to.

Yes this is a good strategy no matter how many blockers to value and unblockers to bluffs you have!

I got one question:wouldn't the fact that we have a lot of combos of trips+ following the same line reduce the need of bluffcatching the river allin? .If we think in terms of mdf or something close to it (which I think ,solver tends to do in most spots on the river) ,I think we would be VERY WELL protected and we would only need to bluffcatch with only a few combos that are not trips+.
@FindingEquilibrium2 жыл бұрын
Sure, the more stronger hands you have to defend with (ie. you use the same line with 9x), the less you need to defend with bluffcatchers, and in reality, even if your frequencies are slightly off, your human opponents will have a hard time exploiting you. It's all about how precise you want to be. If you are playing lower stakes, you don't really need a lot of precision, but at the higher levels it becomes more relevant.

Not to belittle the advanced analysis but at first glance of the Hand it is rather obvious there are a significant amount of draws that whiffed here in comparison! Also it is fairly safe for someone to assume we are on an over pair at this point so naturally may feel obligated to to use the only Option available and depending on a few miscellaneous details it's a possible snap.

I'm confused around the 13-14 minute mark. Solver shows to call with hands like A3 but earlier it was shown that OOP likes to bluff with the 54s and so forth. Aren't we blocking OOP main bluffs?
@NoLongerGrilling2 жыл бұрын
A3 type hands that don’t include a diamond. OOP bluffs are all low diamonds.
