4 miscarriages and 4 IVF treatments only resulted in divorce. It’s still painful 13 years later.

I love how honest Gayle is willing to be about her personal ignorances and growth. A lot of people feel the same way and hearing her experiences being educated can be so beneficial for others who have the same preconceptions.

I feel so sorry for all the women in the comments that say their relationship ended due to infertility issues. Life is so much more than what we think it is.

No one discusses how physically painful IVF is. I came to during the egg retrieval and no one warned me I’d wake up during and feel the procedure. Shots aren’t even half of the entire thing.

Nobody likes to mention a woman’s biological clock but it’s a very real thing. It’s hard to balance education/career and family. 😢

I had NO idea that IVF doesn't work most of the time. Thanks for this video. Im just very concerned about the risk of cancers as a result of the hormone therapy [injections].

I Struggled to get pregnant and when l did l miscarried. Aftet 3 pregnancies and no babies l gave up. The heartache of each month and countless test's. Seeing pregnant women or friends and family members that would announce there pregnancies would make me feel worse. I have never truly felt like a women and blamed myself for years. But l did find happiness with Fostering and adopting. I never tried IVF due to the cost and there's no promise of a baby. God wrote my path and it was adoption. It's taken me 25 years to feel peace and not blame myself.

Am 45 and don't have any children, and a lot of my friends still do this day don't understand why even i try and explain it to them they still thinks it because i don't want to lose my figure. I just laughed and stopped trying to get them to understand that i suffered from real bad endometriosis and how the pain was so bad i had to go to the emergency room every month or how i had do a six months course of injection below my belly button and put me in early menopause and weight. Than lost my bellybutton because i started bleeding though my belly button. The next year had to have surgery to remove fibroids and no amount of painkillers and emergency room visit could help with the pain it was so bad it hurts to breathe. I finally at 43 i decided to have hysterectomy done just get some relief from the non stop pain. But even that was still not enough to stop the endometriosis from growing so now am on hormone free diet because that what endometriosis feeds on.

Thank you so much for pitching and then covering this story. Points that were made at the end such as how many people can't afford IVF and how only the success stories are shared are so important to talk about and add to the conversation.

I understand that having children is very important life goal for most people. But sometimes, life does not go like we wanted. I think it is important to try with everything you got to get what you want. After, acceptance is the key, else one will go on suffering wanting something we cannot have. That is true suffering. I have things in my life that I wanted badly but didn’t get. Let it be what it should be.

I appreciate the main anchor’s honesty about her experience and regrets. But I think a lot of women have unfortunately been lied to or lie to themselves about the likelihood of getting pregnant past 40. The reality is that female fertility drops dramatically after 34.

This brought me to tears again. This has been my entire existence for the past three years. I’m preparing for my third egg retrieval and 4th transfer. From male and female infertility, donor sperm, miscarriage, failed IUI’s, endometritis, failed transfers, hospitalization from hyperstimulation, almost $300,000 in, hundreds of blood tests, reproductive immunology, genetic testing, almost a year worth of antibiotics, and at least a thousand injections not to mention the depression and anxiety at the ages 31 to now 34, it is brutal and my worst nightmare. I go to Columbia Fertility as well. I trust them and their doctors but I’m beyond exhausted and praying for at least ONE baby. 💔💔

I feel bad for women who struggle with this BUT it's not the end of the world if you cannot have children. I was diagnosed with cancer...a worse situation than this! At least they will live...

Glad their talking about this having gone through my own infertility struggles, and 2 rounds of IVF what I found most suprising was how insensitive people were including medical staff.

I refused IVF 30 years ago, when dealing with secondary infertility. My husband would have preferred we had tried it. I doubt I would have been willing to resort to it, even for primary infertility. It is a blessing for many, but it was not for me, for multiple reasons. I was more interested in adoption, which my husband was not eager to pursue. We are grateful for our daughter.
