Can't help but realise the South Africans have a completely different mindset to facing the haka than anyone else. It has never intimidated our greatest rivals. They thrive on it. The North could learn from the Boks instead of arrogantly belittling, ridiculing, minimising what they don't understand.
@princeoftheves15495 жыл бұрын
Yeah that's a big joke. The Bok players are classy but their fans are a bunch of blockheads singing "ole, ole." Also, pretty much every national team nowadays faces the haka without much fuss, even the NH teams. The fans though... Even Kiwi fans are bloody stupid at home games, cheering over the introductory stanza like a pile of idiots.

Dre Santos Great post. Let’s face it, the haka is in no way a friendly “let’s have a good game”. If a team doesn’t “respect” a bunch of guys threatening them the ABs need to have a think. I always remember Campese mucking about in the dead ball area when they did the haka. He didn’t care, why should he have ? I’m sure the triggered kiwis will get angry here. The ABs are superb, it’’s only a game of rugby, not captain cook landing on the shore.

So when teams stand there & face it, i see that as the opposing team returning the handshake If i'm about to put up a fight & i put my hand out for that hand shake & you turn your back on me, i will see that as a sign of disrespect, weakness, lack of confidence, arrogance, waste of time - like you are better than. It is probably why those teams who have rejected the AB's Haka/ handshake ( turned their backs/ opposing team's fans trying to drown out the Haka ) have lost. That is how i see the Haka. AB's putting their hands out for a respectful gentleman's hand shake. Respecting you as an individual player/ team, as well as acknowledgement of your time & pressence.
