“Thanks for sharing the fascinating and little know science behind why it feels so good in nature, as well as the experiences and practices from two Nature Therapy Guides. The exquisite footage from Sylvie’s film Love Thy Nature greatly enhances our understanding that being in nature is inherently healing. Listening, breathing, feeling, seeing, and touching help us embrace this positive power and can motivate us to protect her.

This is a wonderful video that can help others find the healing aspects of forest bathing. My mind is always much calmer when I am in the woods. I loved the call to action at the end.

Hi Dale, Sheila and Sylvie: We cycled through some wooded areas earlier today on our tandem bike -- benefits of both cycling and forest bathing :) Great video!

I love being in the woods, but I haven't thought of it as bathing.

And here I was thinking that stripping off and running into the woods naked was a sign of mental instability...It isn't. All seriousness though? Experiencing nature in that kind of way, you see untold thousands of things you never would before. It becomes harder to ignore the nastier side of Human industrialization and many other problems, when you have sat alone and watched an animal watch you back with the same wild interest in its eyes. Custodians, not owners.

@TennesseeJed, you bring up a good point. I hadn't thought about it that way either, until I learned that what the Japanese culture meant with "Shinrin Yoku" was "bathing in the atmosphere of the forest"
@TennesseeJed Жыл бұрын
@@SylvieRokab Yes, don't know why it didn't occur to me since we call it sunbathing on the beach.

@@TennesseeJed it’s occurring to you now! Fabulous analogy!!!! ✨

@@SylvieRokab yes, I neglected to finish full circle my explanation of Shinrin Yoku and photoncides by linking the two so that, as Sylvie says, we are "bathing" in the atmosphere of the forest - thro the naturally occurring volatile compounds. Such a treat!

Love this and probably one of my favorite things, bathing naked outside....go ladies good video!

the bathing here refers to bathing in phytoncides, the essential oils or naturally occuring organic chemicals emitted by trees and some other vegetation... I did not finish the full circle explaining that but all good. thanks for watching

To clarify phytoncides are volatile compounds which you breathe in, not cells which you breathe in.
@sheilalaffey6 Жыл бұрын
yes, they are breathed in and THEN roam around and trigger the NK cells in the body. Thanks for watching!
