I love how, in the films, they explain the Green Goblin technology as being for the military. The idea of the US government going "You know what our troops need: skeleton bombs!" is so funny to me. Osborn made a small, remotely controlled drone and bombs that disintegrate flesh and instead of making a military drone he decides to put on a spooky mask and fly around.

A grenade that causes minimal environmental damage while completely un-personing a room has loads of military application. Glider drone could be used for transportation, as an unmanned reconnaissance device, and to incapacitate combatants in closed spaces normal drones can't reach. The applications of the goblin gear are numerous and frankly game changing. But then he decided to fly around chasing a teenager with sticky ropes.

@@tilly4273 The technology itself is desirable, but it's really funny how they made it so A) The grenades specifically leave behind skeletons. B) The glider has a bunch of gothic design details. C) The suit is a monster costume. I'm not trying to do the "This doesn't make the most sense so the entire film is bad", I just find it funny that the military in Spider-Man want Halloween soldiers.

@@e.d.5766 I think only the suit and glider was pre made in the films. they were unfinished prototypes. I think there was a lot of work osbourne did on his own between taking the serum and his first appearance as green goblin, but im probably wrong.

It’s honestly a bit over the top. I liked it more when Osborne was a dick that went crazy. The whole sold his son’s soul to the evil in order to be a successful businessman just feels ridiculous because his one redeeming feature was he still cared about his son despite how bad a job he does as a father.

Like he had a whole I get to fight the angel of death and comeback thing going for awhile which was how the writers decided to explain how he survived stuff like being reduced to a skeleton, drop of blood, and literal ash. They thankfully got rid of that though, so now he can in fact die to certain things.

I remember a what if comic where thousands of years in the future another robot of Tony’s wipes out most of the know universe and Venom who is basically keeping Eddie in Life Support and he’s no longer conscious is the only one alive. He’s bonded with every Marvel Hero and Villain in his life and because he absorbs and copies the powers of his hosts he’s essentially a God. Venom uses his godly powers to destroy Tony’s creation and recreate the Universe.

Tbf, Osborn having carnage was a really cool moment in TASM. Peter injected him with nanites that stopped him from turning into the goblin. He was trying to find ways to get rid of it and eventually heard about carnage. They merged and carnage burned the nanites out of his body

Overdone tropes in Marvel comics to make a character more powerful: - Give them the Phoenix Force (as mentioned by Karl) - Give them a Venom symbiote (as mentioned by Karl) - Give them Thor's Hammer - Make them beat up the Hulk - Make them beat up Iron Fist - "[Character] kills the Marvel Universe" - Give them a Ghost Rider type possessing spirit And those are just the ones I know of through random exposure, I don't read comics. Unlike the movies, when people get the stones its usually a self correcting problem, since the only real danger from using them is stray thoughts. Course, that means anyone who's using them has to be SUPER careful to not change things on accident, so few people ever actually try and use the thing.

I think it would go the opposite way actually. Carnages insanity is a direct result of bonding with a pathologically insane murderer. Dooms personality and shear force of will makes him one of the few people who could rehabilitate the carnage symbiote into something a little less homicidal.

Their was a “What If” comic that built off of The fact everyone has worn Venom. In the future a Tony Stark robot destroys the entire Universe and Venom (who is sustaining Eddie despite him basically being a vegetable from forcing him to stay alive way past his mortal lifespan) has the inborn ability to copy and mimic the powers of every host he’s had. By this time he’s essentially a God and with his power destroys the Robot and remakes the Universe from scratch.

Norman Osbourne is one of the greatest comic book villains of all time. Not only was he the original Green Goblin who stands as Spider-Man’s greatest arch nemesis but he’s been the leader of the Dark Avengers as the Iron Patriot, he was also the resurrected Goblin King, and he managed to steal the Carnage symbiote to become the terrifying Red Goblin. Norman Osbourne is a super intriguing villain who continually has one amazing story arch after another. Willem Dafoe did an amazing job portraying him in the Raimi films and I can’t wait to see him come back as the Green Goblin in the new Spiderman No Way Home movie.

The reason Sauron is a pterodactyl man (I don't WANT to cure cancer) is fucking hilarious. He was bitten by a radioactive pterodactyl in the Savage lands, which did NOT make him into a pterodactyl man. Instead, it made him an energy vampire that could feed on the energy of others. He used this ability on the mutant Havok (the one with the gyration lasers) and became mutated, and THAT is what turned him into a pterodactyl man.

At the start of history, We were introduced to Green Goblin first, and then later Norman Osborn issues later, and it was actually a mystery for a time. After ruining his life then dying, Norman was mainly gone... until the 90's when they made Norman a threat outside of the Goblin persona, and became one of the greatest threats in the Marvel Universe. As of recently, he's staying out of trouble, but man does Peter straight up hate him, for good reasons lol
