Every now and then you find a rockstar out there who actually provides tangible knowledge to those who seek it. Seriously, this is the best channel I’ve found regarding this type of content. JW breaks it down step by step and he can even help a dummy like me figure some of this stuff out. Outstanding!!!

Great info JW. Some of the stock appearance kart racing guys are getting some respectable performance from these carbs by reaming the venturi.

I appreciate it. I’m going to have to look into that. Thought about porting it a couple of times but was worried about being able to cut a new throttle plate

man this a great informational video. u might be the first to go over these carbs and i’m glad you mentioned the chikuni topic about people always going to them when they don’t even need it. i have a question tho about conrods in predators and hisun 196cc. with governor bypass would i be okay with a cast aluminum flywheel and stock rod with 18 lb springs? i’m on a stock cam with the basic main jet intake and header pipe upgrade i just have springs for the valve float but yea.

I don’t know enough about the cast aluminum flywheel to be able to give you advice on it but what I can say is that I have more than half a dozen Predator 212s with factor flywheels and rods with governor deletes and they have held up fine for years. One has 18lb springs and I haven’t had any issues with it and the factory components. The valves float at around 5400rpm with the 18lb springs which isn’t crazy. Upgraded flywheel would be the safer way to go but def don’t need a rod.

@@jwsbackyard6413 ok cool yea the wheel is rated for 10k rpm and i push about 6500 rpm so i was concerned about rod but thanks for input

When buying these engines stock they usually come with an EPA regulated carburetor. First thing I do is replace the stock EPA Carb with a non EPA Carb and there are several to choose from that have been modified and ported out for performance. I love these carbs and would never switch to those mikuni chikunis. The .650 Stock appearing Carb I have on my mini bike now works great paired with the other mods I got and my bike Rips! Oh by the way I'm also in North Carolina up near the Virginia border in a little Town called Pinnacle near Pilot Mountain and Mount Airy Winston-Salem area. Are you anywhere near the northern section of N.C. or are you elsewhere? Just curious in case I ever need to have engine work done.

Hmm, I haven’t seen any of the epa carbs around here but have seen some people on the west coast talking about them. I’m between Greensboro and chapel hill. Winston is about an hour drive from me.

@@jwsbackyard6413 Yes it takes me an hour to drive to Greensboro. Cool not too far! 👍

Very informative video. Thanks for sharing. I noticed that there are some small engine repair videos on your channel and are you up for a collaboration? Hipa supplies parts for small engines and maybe we would work together to help more people in the community.
