Factory Pickup! | Cirrus SR22 GTS 2021 | Departure ATC only

Here is a video on taking a trip up to Knoxville TN from Orlando FL, to pick up a brand new Cirrus SR22 GTS. We get some really nice views, icing, strong head winds, and sunny skies at the end. Unfortunately , my ATC Audio recorder in my GoPro 3 stopped working, so I wasn't able to give you guys the ATC audio there, but there are still some really nice views coming in!

This cirrus order was places in December of 2020, and was ready by the end of December of 2021. So it was a year. I've been hearing that they've been delaying longer lately. So expect over a year at the least. Yikes!

Great video, but why was the "tail number" fuzzed out when the "tail number was in all the radio calls?

It's a technicality. My boss allowed me to record as long as I didn't include frames with the tail number. So I don't. However, I just tell him that these tail numbers are already available in the public domain through audio in Live ATC website, so why not just let the audio be? Lol

Has the chute every been deployed to save a plane or lives anywhere world wide to your knowledge?

Yes sir. And it has saved many lives. Some deployments, however, were done outside of the specified deployment conditions (I.e at much faster airspeeds/ lower altitudes, and almost upside down attitudes) where the occupants did not survive.

Yes. He was very sick to make this trip and was eager to have the plane at his home base. So he sent me alone instead.

question. In the videos before take off you turn off recirculation on the a/c. Please explain why. Just curious. Thanks

Hi David. As per the Cirrus POH, recirculation during flight is prohibited, as it cuts off the fresh air inlet from entering the cabin. At this point I am going to assume that they are worried about too much CO2 lingering in the cabin. Hope this helps!

Do you record audio via an iPhone? My audio has stopped recording around the hour mark twice in the last month.

Hi Jeff. I use an intercom cable connected to my GoPro 3. But that camera has been acting up lately, getting stuck on record and not being able to shut it off, etc. So I have to replace that old piece of equipment. Reason I liked using it so much to begin with was because it lasts a long time on with one battery.
