I think this person is far more concerned with the economic impact of CWD than the reality and risk of CWD. "Eat Venison. Your not going to die." is this person's advice. I believe his advice is based upon how much money he and others who make money from people hunting via gun and hunting equipment / supply sales would lose if there were less hunting of deer and other wildlife susceptible to CWD rather than sound scientifically based knowledge of the risks to wildlife and humans. I could care less whether this guy and his ilk make money from people hunting. I would urge hunters to have a CWD test performed before consuming deer meat or meat from other wildlife susceptible to CWD and listen to the scientists rather than those with a profit-based motive to tell people it is safe for humans when it may not be.

So just the facts. Cwd has been around since the 1960’s. Not one person has ever been sick or died from eating meat from a deer that had it. If that’s not enough evidence of safety nothing ever will be
