None of these are bloopers. Bloopers are outtakes that are funny, typically with actors flubbing their lines and breaking character. If the scene remains in the final cut, it’s not a blooper. Most of the so-called “bloopers” you note are continuity errors.

They were on a "3 hour tour" but during the tour they got caught in a storm. There's no mention of how long the storm lasted or how long they drifted before they landed. In fact if you reference the beginning of the first episode (you played a clip of it) they wake up on the island. It's clearly at least a day later. Gilligan says to the Skipper "When the storm was over and it was calm you said we'd be home in no time." So they could have been drifting for days.

Fun show with or without the gaffs. No one back then cared about things like wires or painted backdrops. People didn't pick things apart like they do today. However, if you're going to go looking for bloopers, you sure missed a lot of them. Like the episode where the Howells decide to adopt Gilligan because they never had children, then the TV movies that follow show us Thurston Howell IV, a fully grown man. Or how about the one with the Russian cosmonauts? It's revealed that only one of them speaks English, then Gilligan overhears them making plans... both speaking in English. They also mark a bottle with an X, then use the wrong one. How about the cigarette butts in the sand during the Jungle Boy episode? Or Ginger saying she's ruined her only dress in the very first show? Or how the doors and windows in the huts keep changing... many, many more. You picked a show that is loaded with glitches, but barely mentioned any of them. Like I said, no one worried about these things back then. People assumed the shows would only be seen once and there was no such thing as rewinding or freeze-framing an episode. Different times. My favorite character? Eva Grubb.

Gilligan's Island was a popular television series that ran from 1964 to 1967, and it followed the adventures of a group of castaways on a deserted island. Gilligan, played by Bob Denver, was certainly a beloved character and often provided the comedic relief in the show. His bumbling, yet lovable personality endeared him to many fans of the show, and his antics often resulted in hilarious misadventures. But as you mentioned, all of the characters on Gilligan's Island had their own unique quirks and personalities that made them enjoyable to watch. From the goofy Skipper to the glamorous Ginger, and from the intellectual Professor to the millionaire Thurston Howell III, each character brought something different to the table and helped to create a memorable and entertaining show. It's always great to hear that people still enjoy watching classic TV shows like Gilligan's Island and appreciate the humor and charm of the characters.

Those buildings would not have been visible on an old CRT. Anywhere from 5% to 15% of the edges of the screen were usually covered by a bezel. This is why some older console video games have a "safe zone" setting that lets you move important UI closer to or farther from the edge.

In the 80's/90's I use to play music at Don the Beachcomber Restaurant in Seal Beach, CA. They had a small TV in the Tiki Room Bar that played episodes 24/7!🏝🏄♂️🦈

Watching these clips, It's amazing this show lasted more than a season or two. Especially with the knowledge that everyone seemed to carry a lot of personal belongings as you pointed out. As far as AM radio, there were and are stations that operate 50,000 watts, and could possibly carry that far from the East Coast; but reception would be much better in the evening and at night.

Everyone has to remember, when all these 50's to early 70's shows were made, we didn't have VCR's, DVR's or any type of streaming apps. Also, TV was only available via Rabbit Ear Antennas catching air waves. Which all this means is, the best clear picture you would get, still had some fuzz or grain to it. Also, the big number one thing, you had no way to stop the show and rewind to look for flaws. Even though these videos are fun catching bloopers and mishaps, give the shows of the time period a break. To me, growing up watching all these shows was magic and made life just a little easier.
@gregmonks Жыл бұрын
Star Trek had the same bloopers with wires and suspended objects (ep. Where No Man Has Gone Before). With Gilligan's Island there were gaffs every week, and we used to watch for them and point them out. The episode where they were trapped in cages was one of the most glaring. There was a shot showing that the cages were two or three sided, and open on one or two sides.

Fun Fact. Back in the sixties when Gilligan's Island was on TV, there weren't any billionaires. It was something to be a millionaire. The cast of Gilligan's Island were well off I'm sure, but only one cast member was an actual millionaire. Who? The cast member playing Mrs. Howell. Apparently her husband was a very successful California Realtor.

My favorite was Ginger. I always have loved her since I was a child. I actually met her in person, but was too star struck to tell her how much I appreciated her. My friend did all the talking. I didn't wash my hand for a day after I touched her hand. Lol. I am sure she probably doesn't remember this brief introduction. But as a big fan, I will remember it the rest of my life.

There were many good moments in this show, and one of my favorites is when Mr. Howell gets jump scared, and his wife asks if he's alright, and his answer being something to the effect of "I don't think so my dear - I think Rigor MORTIS has set in!!"

it wasn't a three hour tour, which caused them to be lost. They were carried away by a storm which lasted into, and likely thru the night. The storm could have carried them hundreds of miles off course. I think the official placement is 300 miles SE of Hawaii.

@@kevine.3596 As I said, it wasn't a 3 hour tour that caused them to be lost, it was the long lasting storm. They set out on a 3 hour tour probably around mid day, if not the morning, but they ended up on a deserted island the next morning.
