I have been getting more into stretch after trying to go as heavy as possible. Mostly wearing the midnight slub stretch selvedge true guy, and I love them. Great for recovery after wearing 22oz jeans for a 10-hour build trades shift and driving to and from work. Feels like I'm wearing pajamas, and I honestly would sleep in them a lot. I also have ash black in weird guy, and deep indigo stretch in a my only stacked guy. 2 size up for some room especially in the rise.

Do you recommend sizing down with your stretch selvege Denim for a more slim look, but still comfortable? I find with the 100% cotton denim, I need to stick with a very true to size or slightly larger to be comfortable, but then it's not a more fitting look. Do these Stretch more over time and do they come back to original size when washing in cold water? Thanks

Generally we never recommend sizing down. If you use the size chart to find your size and you are in between go for the bigger size. In the worst case you can return it or shrink it down a bit in the wash if necessary.

@@NakedandFamousDenim great, thanks! I did that with my Left hand twill (size 32) easy guys that are just slightly too big in the waist, but everything else fit well. When I tried the same tag size in the 11oz stretch denim easy guy, they were too big and roomy especially given they stretch so I went with a 31. I might be out of luck when I go to wash them though. Thanks!

I don't know why people are inventing false knowledge about stretch being no good for fades, you can get fades on non-raw stone washed without trying, (obviously nowhere near as good as intentionally maintained for fades raw denim).

Especially since the warp has zero stretch in it so it's gonna fade like any other jeans. What I want to know is how Kato does 4 way stretch selvedge...

I think it's an appeal to authenticity-if it's not 100% cotton, it's not considered "real raw denim," and if it's not real raw denim, it's not going to fade well. Obviously, none of that is true. However, some people are so passionate about something that they treat anything contrary as wrong.

Most stretch jeans are designed to stretch only on the weft side, which means they stretch horizontally, moving left and right. If you add stretch to the warp, the fabric also stretches vertically, moving up and down. Some people call it 2-way, while others refer to it as 4-way stretch, but essentially, they mean the same thing.

@NakedandFamousDenim right. I was just curious about what loom would handle selvedge stretch yarns for the warp and weft. Since is seems hard enough to just make 2% stretch selvedge jeans and that's just the warp. Seems like a lot that is over 2% isn't selvedge. I do have the ash black stretch denim that isn't selvedge, but I still like it. Im debating whether or not to hem them, or go all stacks. I do like Luke's ⅜" hem but, for $25, I don't think its worth it for jeans i paid $70 for. And of course, the kikko, but that's a jacquard loom. The deep indigo stretch selvedge in stacked guy, yeah. The the waist is 2" bigger, but I didn't want them looking like leggings... plus, they were pretty cheap for new without tag.

Its nice that James Bond chose a naked and famous jean as an ode to Canada being apart of the British empire from 1763 to 1867
