Of course, there could have something wrong with the car, like it'd stalled or got stuck. Personally, though, if you get your car in that situation and you see a train coming towards you, the sensible thing actually is to get out of the car and run. Attempting to get the car out of the way opens up too many variables, any one of which could get you killed.
