The girl at 13:19 is going to find herself dangerously near a lightning strike. If you are outside, and your hair stands up like that, either find cover (NOT under a tree), or get down as low as possible so that you are not the tallest thing in the landscape. A beach is extremely dangerous in a thunderstorm. When I was a kid, I saw a beach strike. It knocked a man over who was about 100 yards away from it. He was quite badly hurt. The wet, salty sand was a superb conductor.

I was thinking that a thunderstorm was on its way as well, and in an environment where we are essentially water-filled conductors, with nothing else around but us, you probably want to get out of there and quickly, or you might ned up with far more electrodes than is healthy.

I was hiking once on a ridge backcountry skiing…this was springtime and all of a sudden my skis started buzzing audibly. I threw them down, hunkered down behind a rock and witnessed a tree get struck about 15 feet away. Once I changed my underwear, I promptly skied down for the day
