That is a brilliant vid. I would have liked to see you put it back together as I have just done the same thing in renewing the pawl. So after renewing the pawl and reassembling. I am find the kick start retaining plate dislodges it self bears on the inside of the outer case despite pushing it fully home. So then the kick start stays in the down position. Any ideas on why the plate is coming off?

Do you have the shim / washer on the inner face ? I’ll try and find a photo of her mate

So I managed to buy a nos spring retaining plate - fitted that - did the same. Then I’m thinking, is the spring the wrong way around as not really obvious and reversed that and hey presto plate stays on so lesson learnt spring direction makes a difference. Thanks man
