Failed Stand Up Escape To ReGuard From Bottom Mount

Attempting to stand up is a a critical skill in BJJ. In order to stand up, you have to create space between your and your partner; thus, even in a failed stand up escape, you have the opportunity to get your guard back. The main problem with reguarding from bottom mount is not creating enough space between yourself and your partner. It’s like the old saying, “if you shoot for the stars, you’ll land on the moon.”
And if you strive to stand up, at the very least, you’ll get your guard back.

Reminds me of Marcelo's sit up escape from side control. Building up to the hand seems important, to be able to deal with opponent using a tight waist grip with right arm. I'll give it a try.
