With your headliner… if you’re willing to put some pin holes in it you can buy a can of spray glue that comes in a rattle can and use a straw to spray between the liner and roof… it’s hard to get perfect but it’ll keep the liner off your head until you want to replace it.

Nasty aftermarket poly bushings... Can't beat the OEM rubber ones. One of the coolest things I've done in my working life was to get to go through the Holden plant during the time these were being built. At the time, the line was THE most flexible line in the world, able to produce all Commodore based vehicles in an 'As Ordered' fashion. Watching the line there'd be RHD Commodore wagon, a ute, a Statesman, a LHD Pontiac GTO etc etc - Rather than batches of each type. Simply amazing!

Delrin and/or aluminum certainly can make for stiffer bushing material. They'll definitely provide more rigidity in your suspension system however road noise and vibration will be more noticeable within the cabin.

Thanks for this video! My 06 GTO has the same problems (also torrid red) with the paint in the same spots and also the trunk lid. And now I have an idea of how to tackle it. Also I was going to attempt to fix the rod bearing in the motor, by dropping the sub frame. Seeing the underside of Roxy was helpful there to. And lastly ironically if the rod bearing can't be replaced to be fixed I have a LQ9 short block ready to go in it. So that information about the AC not lining up was helpful. Great video!

Those GM headliners... I don't know how other manufactures do it, but GM did not have this figured out. I color matched some thumbtacks and placed them evenly across the headliner in my ol' '85 Cutlass. May seem a bit tacky, but I didn't have a flappy headliner any more. I also learned the hard way about the lack of lube on the poly bushings on that car. My first/last and only new car ever.

I still own my first car, and my 2nd car too, plan to keep both forever👍 I've had my first car for 31yrs and 2nd car for nearly 30. My first car is 44yrs old and my 2nd car is 46yrs old, so yeh I've definitely passed that point of owning both cars longer than not owning them😁 Interestingly, I also did a complete polyurethane bushing replacement (also with red bushings) pretty much exactly 20 years ago on my first car, around mid 2004. I noticed the exact same thing a few months ago pretty much all the bushings have crumbled, and that's without even driving the car very much. The car has been off the road since around 2007/08, so I think it just comes down to degredation of polyurethane over time rather than extensive use or lack of use from sitting around. Another cause I'm thinking might be something to do with the type of lube they supplied in in the kits when the bushes were new, it was grey grease almost like moly grease, whereas most poly bushes now come with white or clear grease, more like silicone grease, so perhaps the manufacturers have become aware of an incompatibility issue we're now seeing 20trs too late🤣🤣🤦♂️🤷♂️

I use urethane bushings because urethane is more flexible than polyurethane so it absorbs more vibration, though polyurethane is more durable.

It’s 100% from sitting around. I just bought a 2008 Chevy Tahoe immaculate shape. Drive straight as an arrow. 5 weeks after I bought it the upper and lower control arm bushings went all at the same time. One caliper in the back froze and the other one was partially stuck. This all happened on one 2 hour trip after it stopped fine. The suv was sitting for about a year before I bought it and driven only a few times the year before that.

pock a small hole in the center of the sagging part of the head liner then find a straw that fits the spray adhesive and spray threw the hole, let it dry and then start on the outside and work your way to the center and you can close up the hole by placing the fabric next to each other.
