Not being part of a gifted program does not necessarily keep students from achieving their fullest potential Alya Akhtar is an IB senior at Lakeside High School, Evans, GA. She is
the Region 6 Representative of Georgia HOSA. She is also the HOSA
Technology and Communications Coordinator, President of NHS,
member of the Executive Committee of Youth Board, and the treasurer
for both Mu Alpha Theta and Spanish National Honor Society. Alya is a
part of the School’s Track and Field team. She loves public speaking
