I've been struggling to learn something I've dream of doing and it's just heartbreaking cause it seems hard and I keep on failing and made me thought that it might not for me but I've also thought that maybe it's just a test and if i'd really want to pursue my dreams then i'd have to keep on learning through failures. These kinds of talks or topics is so motivating and made me want to pursue my dreams even though it's seems possible and others might thought that it's crazy.

As a Canadian animator who went and worked in China for two years I think there are some misconceptions. You can work as an animator in North America, just probably not doing drawn animation. You will be working on the computer either doing 2D animation on ToonBoom or Flash or doing 3D animation. It is drawn animation and coloring that is sent to Korea. If you want to do lot's of drawing you can work in the design area of animation. In general animation is now competitive and lower paying

He wasn't saying that their food was bad, or that they were impolite. About the food, when you completely stop eating the things you are used to, and regularly start eating things so different from the norm, your body wont know how to take it. Youll get sick like he did. About the hospitality, he didnt speak the language, know how to read it, or anything about it pretty much. When you live in a place where you dont understand anything and get lost everyday, you arent gonna have a good time.

I don't think it's the fault of the industry as a whole. It's a an endless cycle at this point. Where are the animation jobs? Korea. So where are the good animators working? Korea. So where do you hire from? Korea. The industry won't die because you have buyers and sellers... just not in the same country. But if you want the game to change someone would have to change it. Someone would have to open an animation studio in North America with in-house animators and start putting out sick work.

I don't think the food thing was "talking crap." That's just something that happens with drastic transitions such as his. Plus he probably wasn't making a ton of money and didn't know where to go for really good food. Cheap food will make you sick no matter where you're at.

LeSean did not answer his own question on why America outsources it's own work. LeSean is right in that there is no market for animation in Korea so why is America sustaining animators in Korea? It seems to me that America is putting up the money and risk and still the future of Animation is doomed because Americans are losing their animators. When the market for animation dies than the entire industry will go. Why does America shoot itself in the foot?

This sounds more like ole dude was stroking his ego more than encouraging those people. Its no wonder why they weren't clapping and excited like most TedX talks I've heard and seen. We get it, you're a world renowned animator producer whatever... eh whatever means I watch nothing of his so therefore the value of this video for me and I'm pretty sure others too, isn't too high.
