This magical, miniature, Fairy Furniture is decorated with a colourful Fairy Leaf Cane and would grace any fairy home or dolls house. I show you, step by step, how to make these chairs and table from scratch, using Polymer Clay. So, sit back, relax, and watch as the process unfolds. Then have some fun and make your own.

I used FIMO Soft Polymer Clay, but all well-known brands of polymer clay will work well for this project.
I used ½ oz (14g) Chocolate Brown and ½ oz (14g) of Green - made up of 3 parts Apple Green, 1 part Tropical Green and a dash of brown, for the chair frames. This is sufficient for 6 chairs.
The Fairy Leaf Cane used 1oz (28g) of Chocolate Brown ½ oz (14g) Lemon Yellow, Peppermint, Brilliant Blue and Pistachio for one blend. ¼ oz (7g) of Gold, Lemon Yellow and White as a Blend for the veins, then the same amount again of those colours for the border blend, plus ¼ oz (7g) of Brilliant Blue for additional detail.
The small blue petals were 1/8 oz (3.5g) Of White and Brilliant Blue, plus a tiny amount of Lemon Yellow.
To make the table, if you have made 4 or more chairs, you may need the same amount of green mix again, and an additional 1/2oz (14g) of Chocolate Brown Polymer Clay.
Polymer Clay is oven baked.
Other equipment you need is:
A polymer Clay Blade
Craft Knife
Small roller
4mm Cable Needle - or something similar
0.8mm craft/jewellery wire (20 gauge) 13 inches (33 cm) for each chair - 10 inches (26cm) for a table
Wire Cutters, small flat nosed pliers
Small pieces of Duct Tape/Gaffa Tape/Masking Tape/Sticky Tape - whatever you have
Liquid Polymer Clay and small brush (PVA glue would be okay for this project as an alternative)
Foam or sponge texture and small piece of aluminium foil
Cocktail Stick
Leaf texture sheet (optional, use what you may have)
Acrylic paints - mid brown, dark green light green. You could use mica powders or chalk pastels instead
Old rough small paint brush for dabbing on paint
Biodegradable wet wipes, or wet cloths for removing unwanted paint
Long pieces of thin card/scissors.
Clear sticky tape
Small Tile to bake on.
Aluminium foil to cover the clay while it bakes.
Measuring sheet - this is freely downloadable from www.printablepaper.net. I laminate mine so I can use it multiple times, or a ruler.
Pasta machine dedicated to polymer clay use.
If you do not have a pasta machine you can roll a sheet of clay between two even stacks of playing cards. Settings 8 and 9 on my machine are 1 playing card thickness, setting 7 and 6 are 2 cards thick, setting 5 is 3 cards, setting 4, 4 cards, setting 3 is 5 cards, setting 2 is 6 cards, setting 1 is 7 cards and setting 0 is 8 cards thickness.
I made my texture sheet using 2 part moulding compound easily available from shops and online. The foam texture is from a sheet of packing foam.
Thank you so much for watching.
