Thanks for highlighting Fairy Ring. This is the first I’ve heard of it. It is sooo beautiful! And the game play looks interesting, I like the positive player interaction! 🤗 can’t wait to try this one!

Thank you for the recommendation at Gen Con! When we played it at the hotel, everyone enjoyed it. It was definitely not on my radar.

Hi Amy and Maggie! Thanks for the review! 7 Wonders-style drafting is one of my favorite mechanisms. I was first introduced to it playing Magic the Gathering a couple of decades ago. Magic is probably still my favorite drafting game overall even though I don’t play Magic anymore (and drafting is just a variant). I’ll keep an eye out for this game. My budget is more restrictive these days, so I’d like to try before I buy. And I do need to get rid of games before I add more games to my collection as my shelves are full (plus old crowdfunded projects are still coming in). Ah well :) Hope you both are doing well. If you step into a fairy circle, you are transported to the fairy realm unable to return. Or so I've heard 😂

Is the search link that appears on "fairy realm" in your comment something you chose to do purposefully, or something KZbin automatically added? I clicked it and the results were wild - tons of videos from people who seem to think fairies are real (or at least act like it to grift their audiences)

Its a shame you haven't seen a fairy ring! There's something quite fun about seeing them in person, even though they're common, they don't feel mundane...

The fact that you have to choose your card to play not knowing how the number of spaces may or may not change is far too large a random element as you move down in player order in a multiplayer game. Trying to guess what one opponent may do can be fun. Being player number 4, you might as well be throwing down a random card unless you're close to reaching your own tableau. Also having hidden score in a perfectly trackable score-system. Why? I really like this mechanic of moving around your opponents' mushroom gardens and scoring for them as well--the shared incentives of building mushrooms that match your opponents' gardens is pretty cool but the problems I mention above make this a definite try-before-buy

Wow I totally just sort of dismissed this at Gen Con. I saw it, but tbh there were just all of these mushroom themed games that I was just tired of seeing lol. But this one has some cool elements that I haven't really seen before. It looks neat!
