As much as I love Dan's music, it's not always about that. I'm not gonna lie.... some channels only get my views for a "Dan reaction" (yes, I said it) but that's not the case here. I come to this channel because of you, Viking! There is something very special about you, my friend. You and I have something in common that I've rarely experienced with other reactors. You feel the music, the lyrics, the performance in the same way that I do and that's just not a common occurance for me. I actually found you through a Dan reaction about a year ago, but that's not why I continue to come back. You put your heart and soul into your reactions and you're not afraid to be vulnerable when the music or the artist makes you feel that way. The joy that you exude (and the occasional "viking giggle") when a particular performance makes you truly happy, is infectious. When something is breaking your heart or bringing up deep emotions for you, that also comes through loud and clear. You're so genuine. And you can be hilariously funny, too. You're just an all-round great guy and it's right there on your sleeve for anyone who takes the time to notice. So, thank you for the always awesome Dan reactions, including your SaturDanDays, but don't worry if those aren't as frequent as they have been in the past. One of my favorites of Dan's the full belting with all the grit is awesome, no much mix voice in this one just all POWER. Take a listen to his first cover of this song before he took a lot of professional steps to make his voice better, he still sounds good but significantly different.

I first discovered your channel last year through your reaction to Dan's video of Amazing Grace. That reaction was uploaded a mere ten days before my husband of 26 years was hospitalized. Exactly three weeks later, still in the hospital, I lost him. One of the reasons I subscribed to your channel was because of your openness about your own struggle with depression and how you want to use your channel for good - to reach out to those going through their own struggle with depression. Frankly, if I didn't have two dogs to care for, I'm not sure what I would've done at the time. My own struggle is now somewhat lessened. Music has been a big part of that. Keep up your amazing work. We, your fans, are here to support and help you in your efforts. God bless you.

Btw Viking, on the original album version, the latin intro was a female voice, a soprano. One day you should do Angra's Carry On with André Matos and Carry On Singing to the Sky, a song the Japanese band Unlucky Morpheus did in homage to André. Loved that you reacted to this one. After Infirst heard it, just casually browsing through Dan’s channel, it became an earworm.. There is something haunting about both the melody, and also the sequence of high and low passages.. But, I did not remember the title. It took weeks of searching.to find it again. I love the different dynamics of the sounds and played it over and over. No more ear worm, but a great respect and joy listening and watching his performance. Also, I was trying to teach myself to breath like a singer with the diaphragm. This is a fairly early song.and with the white shirt, it is possible to see some of the diaphragm movement.clearly. I couldn’t figure out how to do it. I dont want to be a singe, but want to improve my breathing. Still looking for a simple lesson series that might teach this.

Good for you. ❤ I must admit, I often listen to just the first 38 seconds of this song, which I find utterly gorgeous. I love 90% of the rest of it, just not the very top. (Andre Matos just has a higher, softer, and in my opinion more womanly voice - I prefer Dan’s, actually.) I do love all the different voices and ranges here, and his breath control is, as always, phenomenal. BTW, I agree that he’s reaching down very carefully for those low notes - well done here. His lowest, I believe, are in The Rains of Castamere. He’s such an incredibly accomplished singer/performer, in addition to having one of the most beautiful and versatile voices I’ve ever heard.
