Paul is one of those that Jesus is going to tell, depart from me I never knew you, not I did know you and now I don't, I never knew you because he is trusting in his works to save him instead of what Jesus did for us. Salvation by grace is done, not do. Matthew 7:21-23 Unless he does the will of the Father he will not be saved. And what is the will of the Father? John 6:40 And this is the will of Him who sent me, that all that seeth the Son, and believeth on Him, MAY HAVE ETERNAL LIFE, AND I WILL RAISE HIM UP ON THE LAST DAY. Those that are trusting in their works are not saved because they have never believed on the name of the Son of God. First John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God, that ye may KNOW YE HAVE ETERNAL LIFE. Romans 11:6 It is all AMAZING GRACE, JESUS PAID IT ALL AND WE PAID 0. IT IS FREE.

Remember when Jesus was telling his disciples in the book of Matthews when Jesus was talking about the end times, In Chapter 25:34 this is when he will sit the sinners on his left (The goats) and the Righteous on his right (The sheep) he said this (25:34 "then the King will say to those on his right hand, 'Come you blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for i was hungry and you gave me food; I was thirsty and you gave me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited me; I was in prison and you came to me", (37) then the righteous will answer him saying, Lord when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and gave you drink? When did we see you a stranger and take you in, or naked and clothe you? Or when did we see you sick or in prison and come to you? (40) and the King will answer and say to them, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren you did it to me", He never said repenting and believing Jesus alone won't save you, as a matter of fact he said it in the beginning that Jesus Christ alone will save you. BUT. Say if you say that your saved and then one day you come across someone who says that they are hungry, cold, thirsty and your response is "Get a job", or you have money on you and you lie and say "I'm sorry I don't have any money. You will be like the Pharisees. They did nothing to lift the burden off of peoples shoulders, yet claimed they were righteous. Your works doesn't save you, but it's the working through your salvation that allows you to be able to examine yourself. What I mean is the Bible says we must examine ourselves by the word of God, so the works that we do are not for Salvation but for Jesus, and our works doesn't make us God's favorite but He loves when we do good works from our heart. Jesus said "The honor me with their lips but their hearts are far from me", (Not the whole thing) BUT when he said their hearts are far from me, he means relationship and also they don't want to be transformed, they just want to be saved yet do their own thing, chase after money, sex and when someone needs help they feel like they have an excuse to not help them when that's not true.. To say you are going to Hell because you do not have works..Is nullifying the Gospel and calling God a liar!! Our salvation is not the result of any of our efforts, abilities, intelligent choices, personal characteristics, or acts of service we may perform. However, as believers, we are “created in Christ Jesus for good works”-to help and serve others. While there is nothing we can do to earn our salvation, God’s intention is that our salvation will result in acts of service. We are saved not merely for our own benefit but to serve Christ and build up the church (Ephesians 4:12). This reconciles the seeming conflict between faith and works. Our righteous acts do not produce salvation but are, in fact, our salvation (James 1:22; 2:14-26).(Isaiah 64:6)... proof text to condemn all our acts of goodness as nothing more than “filthy rags”

Yes, but the thief's defense of Jesus hanging on the cross without cause was evidence of his faith in Jesus. This evidence is "works". If I claim to believe in Jesus and lie every moment I get or steal anything I get my hands on as I did before I believed, then I am not a new creation. There must be evidence of a changed life and that is what the thief showed. He believed before Jesus said that he would be with him in paradise and proved his belief.

you are saved by grace through faith alone in Jesus, and repentance of sins are to follow behind that faith. not saved by faith itself. not saved by works alone. faith without works is dead. a saving faith is good works produced in your life. bearing good fruit from the holy spirit. when you are born again, you are a new creature. you desire holiness. you won't go continue living in sin. but you live as a style of life in the path of righteousness. not your own righteousness but righteousness through Jesus. you will go through the process of sanctification, desiring to be Christ-like, desiring to please God.

Not always. First Corinthians 5:5 Turn such a one over to Satan to kill the flesh, so that his Spirit will be saved in the day of the Lord. The man was sleeping with his fathers wife. Paul said it was so bad of sin that they should kick him out of the church and turn him over to Satan. But the man was still saved. He was about to lose his life, and his rewards in heaven, but he was still saved. Once we have received the Holy Spirit through the new birth, Ephesians 1:13 We are a child of God forever whether we are an obedient child or a disobedient child. We are saved by faith without works. Romans 11:6 If you add one work to grace, it is no more grace. Salvation is all grace. You can not add works to grace. It is blasphemy saying what Jesus has done is not good enough. We have nothing to boast in because we did nothing for it. It is free and that is the only way we can accept it. To add works to grace is to believe another gospel.

Do you not realize God is infinitely worthy of more than the best works we can muster up? That the only way we can do works that are pleasing to God is with His very help? So no, works do not save. We can't even do good works until we are saved and then it isn't us, but Christ through us by His Holy Spirit. So if you think you are saved and are fine not doing works, you would do well to be afraid. something is very wrong. or, perhaps you did not listen to what Washer is saying here and you assume he's giving a gospel presentation or describing 'how' to be saved. he isn't. listen. read the Scripture he's referring to. if you think a teacher has no place brining up works, you are very deceived.

They insinuate that because we do not buy into the false gospel of human works we must be wicked people living lives of unrestrained sin and fleshly lusts. They falsely accuse us of misusing God's grace as a devilish licence to Sin. That is pure unchristian slander. You know what....EVERY church I have EVER attended (of various denominations) is made up of nothing but Saved sinners. Which one of us can stand before the Father as PERFECT, sinless people? Yes, I believe that you can add NOTHING to what Jesus did at Calvary. Not one Human work or good deed is good enough to ADD to Christs perfect Sacrifice. When we get to Heaven there will be NO boasting of our good works. All we can do then is to point to Jesus.
@bjornegan64213 жыл бұрын
he isn't preaching a 'works based salvation'. he's not telling someone HOW to be saved, he's warning people who think they're saved who are not. works do not save. works follow after being saved. they do not 'keep' you saved, they result because you have been saved. he's not saying works add anything, but that the saved person will be fruitful. a person can't even do good works unless they have been saved. once saved they will do good works, Ephesians 2:10. so no. works don't save. works add nothing. works aren't 'required' TO BE saved, but works will result after being saved. not out of threat, or fear, or obligation, but out of service to the Master. if you're clumping yourself into that category you describe above, then you're the one doing that, and i'd look at yourself and ask why. Washer isn't. yes, he is addressing the people you described, but they're not all who he's addressing. and i'd warn you that if you think every church you've ever attended is made up of '"nothing" but saved sinners', then you are not recognizing the biblical truth of the existence of sheep and goats, wheat and tares. Washer is addressing the disobedient or immature believer and those who only think they are saved, but are lost. the type of argument you present SEEMS like you're saying something along the lines of once someone is saved, that's it. nothing else matters. now you just live, saved, however you want. there's more to it than that. it's only just beginning once someone is saved. beforehand they can do nothing to please God. now that they are saved, they are to strive to honor God in everything they do. they are to be sanctified, made more and more like Christ until they die. they grow in the love of God and seek with painful hearts because of how miserably they fail to love God with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength, and love their neighbor as themselves. that produces works. if it doesn't, then have they been born again? have they been given new desires to please God? "Which one of us can stand before the Father as PERFECT, sinless people?" if you're suggesting Washer is saying anything along those lines then your comment is incredibly ironic.

Salvation is a gift of God, and cannot be earned or deserved, as Paul states clearly many times. Christian works are what the Christian does during his life on earth. These works are judged at the Christian's judgment, one example is 1 Corinthians 3:11-15. The result of this judgment are works being rewarded or not rewarded. Whether the works stand the test of fire and are rewarded, or if they are burned like wood, hay & stubble, the person themselves shall be saved - verse 3:15. Washer has a terrible problem accepting GRACE, which is found at the cross, by believing that Jesus died for your sins, was buried, and rose again. 1 Cor 15:3, 4. Note, a person is NOT saved by merely saying the words, but he/she MUST BELIEVE this saving Gospel. Washer needs to return to the basics before he leads more people astray with his false "works" gospel, whereby he NULLIFIES the work of Jesus Christ our Savior, who hung between heaven and earth, while your sins and my sins & the sins of the world were poured out upon Him in judgment, so that everyone who believes on Him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3;16. .

@William Walker - What can I say to one that has REJECTED the GRACE GIFT of God ALONE, NOT of human works, that nobody can boast (Eph. 2:8&9). I have my lifeline in Jesus Christ. He saved a wretch like me. Apparently you believe you're "special" in the flesh, instead of being humble and KNOWING you are a wretch! You shall be judged to see if you qualify for salvation, which is received through FAITH in Jesus, who died for our sins, was buried & rose again the third day. YOU need to be concerned with the destiny of the MANY that will stand before Jesus in "that day", and be talking like you, asking why He rejects them when they "did so many things in His name" - no relationship with Jesus the Savior = no salvation & eternal life - very clear in Mat:7:22-24. Please seek the Lord - you have nothing to offer Him except the childlike faith in Jesus the same simple faith as shown by the thief/malefactor on the cross, who received eternal life - (ask yourself how a wicked man can earn or deserve God's GIFT of eternal life. A true Christian lives an exemplary life BECAUSE of His GIFT & NOT TO EARN OR DESERVE IT.

Paul Washer is uterly failing to convince me...In fact he reinforced the fact that if you have faith and no works you WILL TO HEAVEN.
@FormerTrucker8 жыл бұрын
what he was referring to it's working was talking about people that said they were Christians but did not help their neighbors, nor do they care, that is not the sign of a regenerated person.

Romans 4:2 King James Version (KJV) 2 For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God. Our works justify us before men NOT GOD! Your absolutely right, Paul washer is a false prophet on his way to hell.

Works will not attain grace........believing is not faith and will not gain grace.......the way to accept God's free gift of grace is through faith. The true meaning of faith is to believe God's word and to ACT upon it. Satan loves the modern day American church that believes going to Sunday service IS their service....this is a lie. "I say this because some godless teachers have wormed their way in among you, saying that after we become Christians we can do just as we like without fear of God's punishment. The fate of such people was written long ago, for they have turned against our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ" Jude 1:4 We our servants and are to do His bidding and work.....not follow our lifestyles of leisure and keep on sinning believing we are saved by just BELIEVING Jesus is Lord.........works alone is not faith....belief alone is not faith.

Paul Washer is not preaching the biblical gospel. We are saved by faith alone, and justified apart from works. Washer is blatantly lying telling people, "If you don't have works you’re going to hell.” The Bible says, "But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness, just as David also describes the blessedness of the man to whom God imputes righteousness apart from works." (Romans 4:5-6)

Paul Washer has another gospel and should be marked and avoided. He is preaching works. Should you do good works after salvation, sure but that is not proof of it. There are lots of fake christians out there who do great works but have no faith. Maybe this is why so many of them love Paul Washer. Romans chapter 4 5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. Why not discuss scripture with someone to see if they are saved. Maybe discuss james 2 with them. If they are indwelled with the Holy Spirit, they won't respond with no works....no salvation. They will see that it is talking about our justification before man, no God.

@William Walker yes, my father is someone who I would consider having dead faith. He has faith, saved before I was born, but isn't doing anything for the cause of Christ now. Some people just are not going to be great Christians, still have faith though. Still saved and on their way to heaven. Salvation is simple, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shall be saved. That's it, no works neccessary before, during or after. Acts 16:27-32 [27]And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled. [28]But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here. [29]Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas, [30]And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? [31]And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. [32]And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house.

If good works could save sinners, then Jesus died in vain, and your faith is in vain. Romans 4:5. John 3:18 Ephesians 2:8-9. False teachers preach a gospel of works salvation and are deceived. Matthew 7:21-23 They have never done the will of His Father in haven. John 6:40 and John 6:29. Those that trust in their works have not trusted in Jesus finished work and are not saved. Cain and Abel. Law/works can not mix with grace. Oil and water. If you add one work to grace, it is no more grace, but all works. Romans 11:6 The Blood of Jesus covers us from all sin. We have eternal life by faith alone in Jesus alone apart from any works. Romans 3:26-28.Galatians 2:21
