It's because of corporate greed; Apple knows that people will just buy a whole new one, which is more profit for them, so choose not to simply add a small sd card slot like every other phone.

Kendrick Padilla Phone, mp3 player, any device with a cpu and memory storage, etc. They designed their products going out of their way to make them difficult to open up and modify and upgrade because they'd make more money coming out with their own version with more memory, or the next generation with more cpu and better this and better that. It's just a nuisance how they choose profit over customer convenience or a better product.

when apple makes a product, they release a crudy version to start and work up (first ipad didn't even have a camera) and exclude things like the ability to add extra memory (i beleive there are 3rd party 30 pin to sd card converters) so that when your 16 gig iphone runs out, you have to buy a 32 gig iphone instead of another sd card for way less (and repeat when you run out of space again and need a 64 gig) same with most companys, but apples the worst with it
