colleen 😭 just the fact you started your “what is or isn’t wild” statement with “we planted seeds” shows exactly how it’s not at all wild. wild involves no human interactions and it simply happens on its own.

I think a big misunderstanding people have with the term "gmo" is they think it means what colleen is describing (scientists in a lab with a petri dish) but in reality it's a lot more like what Erik is describing (farmers and botanists cross polinating with other plants to weed out undesirable traits)

I’ve tried explaining this to people. Most fresh produce does look the way it did years ago, growing in the wild. It’s ✨GMOoooos✨ lol blackberries were not originally the size of one’s head.
@zervv51155 ай бұрын
I think both are true. GMOs nowadays use CRISPR to edit the DNA/RNA of plant cells. Then, they go plant it and use existing planting methods to grow it into a "better plant" which resists pests, yields more produce, needs less water, etc. In that way, the process of cross-pollination is expedited.

I really want to explain farming and gmo to you, but it's incredibly complicated and long winded. A lot of things we eat have been genetically modified to prevent disease or create pest resistance or to select color and size according to edible desirability. Some fruits and vegetables that grow or occur naturally without human farming aren't edible in their basic state. It can be considered in terms of breeding plants to get bigger or more productive, and not be chemically modified, just genetically (choosing only the biggest plants to collect seeds from so that the next year's plants are all larger in size)

Hello…East coaster here (Massachusetts) I just wanted to say that yes we did go outside on snowy freezing cold days and I remember having to carry a plastic bag with my shoes in it so I could change into them when I got to school and we also had field day! We did things like hula hooping, 3 legged race, tug of war etc. and would win ribbons for each category (I always won first place for hula hooping and 3 legged race lol) and then we would have a huge cook out and go swimming at the community pool afterwards. It was always on the last day of school and it was so much fun!!!

On rainy days in the Midwest for recess in elementary school, we would be in the basketball gymnasium used for middle school and elementary basketball. We had two grades have recess at the same time, so one grade stayed on one half, and the other grade stayed on the other half. We had basketballs, volleyballs, kickballs (until they were too intense kicking them at people), hula hoops, and jump ropes we could have out during those times. Also the area where the bleachers were was higher up, so that was a space for kids that wanted to read or color or play hopscotch or things like that. “Quieter” recess. This was a very small rural school. I graduated with 82 other kids

Vermonter here. We had recess in all weather (unless there’s lightning or below 20 degrees) and in the winter it always took twice as long to get snow gear on than we actually go to be outside. We didn’t have a obstacle course but in middle school we got a “fitness trail” that was just various pieces of wood beams, pipe and tires half hurried in the ground and next to each was a sign describing what exercise was meant to be done. Each thing was spread out through the woods around the school. I think that day with the pull ups and stretching was the presidential fitness test?

Colleen talking about her definition of wild is hilarious. Wild means it lives in the wild and fends for itself or in the case of plants, those strawberries you see on the hillside were planted there naturally by nature and the wind blowing the seeds there. That’s what wild plants are lol not just that they’re outside😂
@sp00kyMerBabe5 ай бұрын
Colleen! What Erik is trying to explain is that those fruits and things would not have ever occurred ”naturally” in the wild on their own without the interference of a person. Which is interesting to think about because they’re so normal today! Lol ❤

So in Canada (or Ontario atleast) we call a gravity bong a pisser. We take a juice jug, fill it with water and then we take a pop bottle and burn hole in the bottom, take the lid off the pop bottle, burn a hole through the lid, take a socket (yes like the tool part) stuff it in the hole that we burned through the lid and then go about our smoking in the forest which we called bush bashes

I agree with Colleen. Odd in my brain is bad and even is good. Saturday and Sunday are my chill selfcare days so don't really play a factor. Monday you have the whole week ahead of you to make the most of it so obviously even, Wednesday you're halfway to Friday and know you can make it through-even, Friday is the best day hopefully it was a great week and if not, you have the weekend to decompress. Tuesday and Thursday just feel like filler and you're struggling to make it through the week- so obviously odd.

I'm pretty sure there's no such thing as fruits or chickens being grown in the lab. For me, wild means that humans don't take care of it at all, it takes care of itself. So if you plant the strawberries and you take care of the strawberries then that's not wild. If you find strawberries growing while you're hiking in the wilderness, then that's wild.

COLLEEN. I have another Amazon rant because of what you said. I’ll try to sum it up short but the other day I got home from work and knew I had an order that was going to be delivered that day. I checked the site and it said 3 stops away on the little map. So once it said “you’re the next stop” I went downstairs and stood by the door waiting. I noticed TWO Amazon vehicles pull up a moment later DIRECTLY in front of my house. They were there for about 15-20 minutes with one of the drivers just sort of moving packages around but nothing was actually delivered anywhere to any houses. The first vehicle pulled away and left and then a few minutes later the other one followed. I checked my phone and they went farther and farther away from my house. The status changed to saying something like “there’s a few more deliveries until your stop.” I was like WTF they were right in front of my house! Why did they leave?! After 3 phones calls I made to customer service and getting bounced around no one would give me an answer as to why they did this and just kept assuring me it was still out for delivery. I’m like I KNOW THAT BUT I NEED TO KNOW WHY THEY DID THAT. Lol. Like it doesn’t make sense what the hell you were right here! Anyways my stuff got delivered like an hour or two later but what the freak! 🤬
